Black Book Demo available during the Steam Game Festival!

Hey everyone,

We’re Morteshka, a small indie studio from Russia. Our projects are mythology and ethnic-based with the narrative and worlds supported by historical facts and folklore. Our first project The Mooseman was released in 2017 on Steam and other platforms. Now we are working on a new game called Black Book.

Black Book is a narrative-driven RPG Adventure with card-based combat, based on Slavic mythology. You will take on the role of Vasilisa, a young sorcerer trying to revive her beloved one. In order to do so, she has to uncover all the 7 seals of Black Book — a demonic artifact, said to be powerful enough to grant any wish. Travel across the lands as you aid common folk by persuading - or sometimes battling - the otherworldly creatures and enlist the help of people you meet on your way, each with their unique backstory and ability.

We released Black Book: Prologue on May 5, which will be available as a demo throughout the Steam Game Festival. It is a standalone version of the game featuring an essential part of the story - the First Day of Vasilisa becoming a witch. You’ll be able to test the core game mechanics, battle regular demons, and even test your strength in a fight against a boss. Good luck!
