One Lonely Outpost: Patch 1.0.2, and a Good Week to Come Back

Hello from the outpost.

Two things today. Patch 1.0.2 is live, and the game is on sale.

The patch first, because it matters more.

Achievements unlock now

They were not unlocking on Steam. At all. If you have been playing and wondering why nothing ever popped, it was not you.

The Video settings were lying to you

Fullscreen, resolution, refresh rate and vsync were all being saved properly and shown back to you correctly in the menu. None of them were ever applied to the game. So if you set those once, shrugged and carried on in the wrong resolution, that is why. They work now.

The menus locking up after you changed region

This one was strange enough to be worth explaining. Moving between regions could leave the pause menu and the inventory unresponsive for the rest of the session, while chests and delivery bins carried on working perfectly, which made it look like only some screens had broken. It was a failure loading the weather forecast, which stopped the game handing menu input back. Fixed.

A quest title that could quietly stall your story

A duplicate quest title could stop story events progressing in a save, with no error and no sign anything was wrong. Silently is the worst way for something to break. Fixed.

Things that piled up the longer you played

Several event handlers were outliving the objects that owned them, including the new-recipe popup and the tooltip controller, and accumulating over a session. Cleaned up.

Localization is next

This patch is English only, on purpose. We cut it from before the localization work so the fixes above could reach you sooner rather than waiting on it. Localization is coming right behind it.

And it is on sale

One Lonely Outpost is on sale during the Steam Autumn Sale, October 1 to October 8.

If you drifted off early, this is the honest pitch: it is the same game, with a good deal fewer reasons to close it. Between the Big Bug Squash and this one, most of what used to make people quit has been dealt with.
