Nivalis Nights - Update #1
Hi citizens of Nivalis Nights,
First of all, we want to thank you for the incredible support. So many of you have already chosen to explore the streets of Nivalis Nights in these first hours since launch, and we're grateful for your trust!
We've just released a **patch **to fix some of the **bugs **you've reported to us in these first 24 hours, along with some performance improvements, which we'll continue to monitor and improve over time.
We wanted to get this patch out quickly to address some of the most pressing issues, so more improvements we've already been working on didn't quite make it in this time. They still need a bit more testing to make sure they're ready to go, but they're coming very soon! For example, we've been working on a light culling system to improve rendering performance in larger scenes, and we're also looking into ways to further improve character simulation performance, a deep and complex topic in its own right. You can expect these with the next patch.
Here are the patch notes:
-
Various performance improvements for character actions, animations and physics
-
Improved workflow for staff taking orders, also fixing a case where that action could be repeated multiple times when ingredients need to be restocked
-
Fixed business and barter skill levelling
-
Added more quest objective details for adding decorations and plants to Ramen Noir. Home furniture retailers at Eastern Residential, Hive Mall and Central Canyon sell them
-
Fixed an issue with the intro tutorial quest objective, where buying only the required amount from the shopping list could later cause confusion when completing the "Fill Venue Inventory" objective
-
Improved the boat for better visibility from the cockpit and less cause for nausea
-
Fixed various furniture configurations
-
Added a note for travel transitions showing how to skip them
-
Improved manager staff behaviour when buying ingredients
-
Fixed an issue where the Level of Detail slider could be set all the way to 0, causing visual artefacts
-
Added support for lower mouse sensitivity
-
Fixed an issue where the player could be pushed inside geometry by other characters
-
Fixed camera causing performance to gradually get worse each time a save was loaded
-
Fixed castling in chess matches when the king is under check
** Known Issue**
When hiding the quest log (holding the J Key), it can happen that the text becomes illegible after the quest log has been hidden for some time and then is unhidden again. This issue is already fixed, but we were not able to include it in this patch. Reloading your save will fix this issue if you do encounter it.
