ROADMAP & UPDATES
Hello there!
A Little Age released a month ago! It was exciting and bumpy, to say the least :)
I think the worst issue was that the save/load feature released in a broken state. This was mainly due to last-minute work and moving things around to get the game ready for release. Not leaving enough time to playtest it all properly was clearly a mistake.
However, with a lot of work, the game was quickly fixed and stabilised! Once everything was working properly, I also added a few extra things that I couldn't fit in before release, including lots of quality-of-life improvements and extra languages.
I'm very happy with the current version of the game, though. It is very much what I set out to make from the start, which is great!
UPCOMING CONTENT PATCH (v1.1)
I've been working on a new content patch that aims to address feedback and introduce improvements that didn't fit the scope of version 1.0, or that occurred to me very late during development.
I plan to release this in a few weeks, with a focus on new content and improved gameplay.
The main big thing in this patch will be a new layer of content and interactivity for the settlements themselves: they will now want things! I think this makes each match feel more textured and interesting. Interacting with settlements this way builds towards eventually declaring one the Capital City of your civilisation. Very exciting!
One of the other things I'm working on is a change to how production buildings relate to settlement size. This is something I only realised needed work in hindsight, and I think the change makes for a more solid and interesting match experience. It addresses two issues: "the same solution works every time" and "there's little reason to grow settlements to their maximum size".
There are also plenty of big improvements to pacing, placing things, and getting the information you need out of the game, as well as plenty of bug fixes.
I'm also adding Polish, Turkish, and Russian to the game with this patch.
FOLLOW UP SMALLER PATCH (v1.1.x)
After the dust clears on the 1.1, I'll focus on accesibility and technical things.
This patch will focus on getting the game Steam Deck Certified by adding gamepad support and addressing all the feedback from the Steam team.
It will also include some lower-priority cosmetic additions and improvements.
Along with v1.1.1, I'll also add Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean to the game.
DEVELOPER NOTES
Thanks to everyone that has supported the game so far.
I set out to make a game after a lot of years since my last release on steam, and I've learned so much. It has been a great experience and I'm very energised to keep going.
And if you like A Little Age, the best way to support the game now is by leaving a review!
Thanks, and have an excellent day :)
