🍺 Brewers Club Monthly 🍺 Brewmaster Developer Update #3
Hi Brewers Club!
Welcome to the August issue, where we'll be giving you a Brewmaster Developer Update! 🍻
Don't forget, you can sign up to our Brewers Club Newsletter to get these updates direct to your inbox and be the first to hear about alphas and betas when we announce them.
🍻 Working on core gameplay 🍻
Is it the end of August already? Time flies when you’re developing a video game about brewing beer, as the old saying goes.
We’ve been working on core gameplay the mostly this month, ensuring our first sets of objects are in and that you can use them to brew a beer; from getting out the equipment and ingredients from a cupboard, all the way to inspecting a finished brew. Mash tuns, stainless steel pans, fermentation containers, tubes, immersion coils, gas burners, ingredient packets, water taps… there’s a lot, and while there’s plenty of bugs right now, it’s all pretty much there.
Excitingly, our producer at Sold Out - Brewmaster’s publisher - put Brewmaster’s chemical simulation to the test the other day and tried to make an IPA from a real life recipe book he had on his homebrewing bookshelf. And lo and behold, out popped an IPA! We’ll drink to that! 😊👍
But hey, why read about what’s been going on, when you can see what we’ve done instead 👇

🎉 Auroch visits a Beer Festival 🎉
Brandon, Danielle, Andres, and Jack went to Bristol Craft Beer Festival on July 30th (yes that was technically last month but it was right at the end!) and tried a whole selection of beers; getting a lot of inspiration from talking to the brewers and other beer fans.
Associate Designer, Brandon, said his favourite was Alternating Currants" by Brixton Brewery, a mixed berry sour. 🥫🍓 They have awesome can designs too! Our Finance and Admin Assistant, Danielle, is normally more of a cider drinker but she really enjoyed Jubel Beers as they were so fruity and tasty. She said if she had to pick a favourite it’d be the elderflower one. 🍎🍑🍐
One of our Brewmaster programmers, Andres, really enjoyed the New Bristol Salted Chocolate Bigger Cinder Toffee Stout. 🍫 He said it’s really easy to drink and full of amazing flavors. Jack is also a programmer and his favourite was an Arbor and Wiper And True collaboration, a sour beer blend. Both brewery's barrel aged a beer then blended them together. It was much smoother than many sours, but still with an edge to it and a lovely depth of flavour.
🌾 Great grains! 🌾
Enjoy a behind the scenes look at Brewmaster, with this look at our awesome grain pouring! Malt is one of the ingredients at the very heart of homebrewing, so we wanted to make sure grains look as pleasing on the eye as our liquid pouring system.
👀 Brew on the go 👀
Here’s your first look at Brewmaster on Switch! Development of the game is going well, we were really excited to see what the game looks like in handheld mode. You’ll be able to brew your favourite beers on the go!
Don't be fooled though! We are still a way off completing development. But doesn't it look great?
🎤 Our producer chats with Shack News 🎤
