Homecoming Update Devlog#5 - Building the Polish Store

Hello Prospectors!

The Homecoming Update brings your family back to Alaska, and with them comes something that might feel a little more familiar - a Polish Store. 🇵🇱

After arriving in Alaska, your family brings a shipment of goods from Poland. The first thing you'll see that a boat is loaded with crates and supplies. But before you can start selling anything, there's quite a bit of work to do.

The area around the store needs to be cleaned up and prepared. Build the store before it can become a proper business!

🏗️ Building the Store

Our artist created the entire setup with the construction system in Unity, allowing the store to be assembled from its individual elements.

The props were carefully placed to make the location feel like a real shipment that has just arrived. The crates at the beginning are an important part of this - the idea was to make it look as if the family had just sailed in with all their goods and you're now responsible for turning that delivery into a functioning shop.

The new products required for the store were also created from scratch. They were modelled in Blender and then textured in Substance Painter before being brought into the game.

🥩 Polish Products

Once the store is ready, you'll be able to trade a selection of Polish products.

Among them you'll find: Polish sausage 🌭,Fresh bread 🍞,And other traditional Polish goods.

We wanted the store to have its own identity and to feel different from the other businesses around Alaska. Instead of another generic shop, you'll get a place filled with interesting products.

It also fits nicely into the story of the Homecoming Update. Your family isn't simply returning to Alaska - they're bringing a little bit of their old home with them.

Of course, we couldn't resist adding a few Polish Easter eggs around the store. 👀🇵🇱 Some of them are easy to spot, while others might require a little more attention. We'll let you discover them on your own once the update arrives!
