MONSTER CARDS Ver.0.25

1 / 1 · 100%

Introduction

Thank you for always playing MONSTER CARDS!

The Early Access period that began in 2022 is finally drawing to a close.

This is the last major update during Early Access, and we plan to launch the full release with the next major update.

We have been able to keep developing this game all this time entirely thanks to all of you who play it so much.

Even after the full release, we plan to keep adding new skills and features and making improvements. Please look forward to the full version!

In this Ver.0.25 update, we have added a tutorial where you can learn the rules while playing matches, effects that show at a glance what attacks and skills did, and two new battle options that expand your strategic options!

In addition, as features exclusive to Plus License DLC owners, we have added settings that let you fine-tune the look of your cards, such as per-card damage effects and text styles!

Please check the update details below!

New Features & Content

  • Tutorial Mode Added

Select "TUTORIAL" on the title screen to learn the flow of a match and the rules by actually playing, while a character explains along the way!

It consists of 3 chapters, and you can start from any chapter you like.

Chapter 1 - Battle Basics: Learn how to draw, place and win - in a single match

Chapter 2 - Skills: Learn the skill types, and the grades that rarity powers up

Chapter 3 - Practical Play: Learn to let attacks through and replace the offense zone in a 4-player match

  • Attack & Effect Animations Added

Effects now appear over the player panels so you can tell at a glance what happened during a match!

Attack effects change with the card's Means, while their color follows the card's Element and their size follows the card's size.

Besides attacks, effects have also been added for a wide range of situations, such as healing, destroying cards in hand and sending them to the ruins, adding and moving cards, drawing and shuffling, playing cards, and nullifying damage.

*Effects can be turned on or off with "Attack & effect animations" in the "Graphics" tab of the settings.

  • New Battle Option: "Face-Down Play"

When there are no cards on the board (the offense zone and defense zone), a card played from your hand into the offense zone is placed face down.

While face down, its skill does not activate, and it is turned face up when a battle or attack occurs.

  • New Battle Option: "GC Challenge"

When you try to replace another player's game changer, a battle between the two game changers takes place.

This battle is decided only by rarity and matchup, and game changer effects such as Revolution and Species Pride are not applied. A draw counts as a loss for the replacing side.

If the replacing side wins, the card is replaced as before. However, if it loses, the replacement happens only after taking an attack from the original game changer.

This option gives meaning to assigning attack power and rarity to game changers as well!

Game Balance Adjustments

Skills

【Basic】

  • Snipe

The SP effect has been changed to a pure upgrade of the base effect. ULT has also been buffed so that it is worth choosing over SP.

New SP: You can select a different target one more time.

New ULT: You can select the target twice. If you select a target whose deck has 2 cards or fewer, finish them off outright instead of dealing damage.

【Card of Advanced】

  • Commander

    • Soldier

The ULT effect has been buffed to match the difficulty of creating it. ULT is also exempt from the base effect nerf made in Ver.0.24.

New ULT: Fight with your own will.

When played, it deals 1 damage to the owner of a card in the offense zone, and this card's owner recovers 1.

While this card is in the offense zone, it deals 1 damage to the player whose turn it is.

A draw in battle counts as a win instead of a loss.

Can be placed directly into the offense zone. When it replaces the card there, all damage is prevented until end of turn.

Its skills cannot be sealed by divine nullification.

EXT Skills

  • Soldier

Has gained a power worthy of the name of a hero who carves out the fate of the world with their own hands.
