Update 1.5: The Mod Editor
Warlords Under Siege now has a full Mod Editor. Make your own cards, units and buildings, use them in your own maps, and share everything on the Steam Workshop.
The Mod Editor
One editor for maps, cards, units and buildings, right from the main menu.
Cards
-
Make new cards, or change the game's own.
-
Try a card straight away in a test battle.
Units
-
Change the game's units, or add completely new ones.
-
Use your own 3D models and animations, or the free starter characters that come with the game.
-
Give units their own sounds.
Buildings
-
Change any building: costs, health, production, weapons, what it recruits or sells.
-
Give buildings your own models, or add completely new buildings.
-
New building powers: spawn soldiers, burn nearby enemies, heal or boost nearby squads, reinforce them, produce resources, convert one resource into another, cast spells.
-
Garrisons: let soldiers man any building, and place exactly where they stand with a 3D tool. You can also change the garrisons buildings already have.
-
Choose how many tiers a building has, and give it its own sounds.
-
Desert building kit: 47 desert building models with textures, free to use in your mods (in the game's ModKit folder).
Share and play
-
Switch mods on and off in the new Mods screen.
-
Publish your mods to the Steam Workshop, and browse and subscribe to other players' mods in-game.
-
Custom maps remember which mods they need. When you play one, the game gets those mods from the Workshop and switches them on for that battle.
-
Multiplayer: if your mods differ from the host's, switch to theirs with one click.
-
Achievements are off while mods are on.
Map editor
-
Attack routes: draw the paths enemies take, then choose which waves use them, or let waves pick them at random. Enemies fight whatever they meet on the way, and a single wave can now come at several sides at once.
-
Weather: choose which weathers can come in a battle, change the weather at set times, and set the time of day.
-
Victory and defeat rules for each difficulty: survive until a set time, buildings that must not fall, enemy strength.
-
Story messages: battle log lines, pop-ups or unit speeches, at a set time or when a wave arrives.
-
Waves are announced in battle, with a horn for boss waves.
-
Slot rules: buildings that start already built, protected slots, slots that open later.
-
Starting armies for the player, and enemy camps that guard their ground.
-
Free card drafts every few minutes, and chaos mode on or off for each map.
-
Mod Maps now shows which maps can't be played yet, and why.
-
Type exact numbers into sliders.
-
The camera follows the ground on hilly maps.
-
Q and E rotate the selected object.
-
A battle that can't start now tells you why.
Fixes
-
Building something no longer briefly shows its higher tiers rising and sinking next to it.
-
Adding or removing a spell in a deck no longer wipes that deck's cards. Decks already affected need rebuilding once.
-
Cards removed during a battle are no longer missing in the next battle.
-
Nightmare and Endless difficulties strengthen the enemy again in single player.
-
Weather now affects every army, not just yours. In versus it affects both players.
-
Starting cards, the tech tree and Endless upgrades are no longer sometimes lost at the start of a battle.
-
Workshop updates arriving during a battle no longer reset unit upgrades.
-
Versus: card picks now show properly for the joining player.
-
Versus no longer keeps a Nightmare or Endless mode left selected in single player.
-
Co-op: Wall Circle and Magic Pylons no longer hit your partner's army.
We can't wait to see what you make. Share your mods and maps on the Workshop, and tell us what you'd like to mod next!
