Bellaphones & Year's End: What You Need to Know!

The Bellaphone Class

Bellaphones are the 19th class in WAKFU. To really understand this class and its many particularities, first we need to explain the lineage system.​

Each Dofus and its Primordial Dragon have a lineage. You can change lineage whenever you want for free, as long as you are not in combat. The lineage you choose will define the effects of the Bellaura, an aura that surrounds the character in combat and follows it when the character moves.

Depending on the lineage, a Bellaura can have either positive or negative effects. Therefore, the lineage you choose for combat is important.

The Bellaura is not passive. It has to be activated by a spell, otherwise it will trigger at the end of the turn and apply its effects then.

Each lineage levels up as you complete lineage quests, which unlocks bonuses and additional passives for this class. These passives can be equipped regardless of the lineage you play.

Note that as a lineage levels up, some elemental spells also level up.

It is interesting to try to level up all the lineages by starting with the ones that unlock the passives you are interested in!

Because your choice of lineage is very important and will greatly affect how you approach combat, for this class we've decided not to have the deck system common to other classes.

Thus, this class has 18 spells and 18 slots, regardless of which lineage you choose. It has 3 spells for each element + 6 neutral spells (divided into 3 ivory spells and 3 ebony spells) in order to provide a good balance among all the possible roles.

When entering the game, this class is accompanied by a draconic spirit and its Bellaura. They fight together, attack together, and win or lose together. Strictly speaking, it is not a summoning class, and the draconic spirit never separates from its Bellaphone for very long.

Spells interact with the Bellaura. To master this class, you need to be crafty with your mobility and movement spells in order to get a lot of fighters inside the Bellaura. Once you do that, you can use its effects to inflict a lot of damage or do a lot of healing.

New Island

To understand what Bellaphones are, where they come from and what their history is, we've decided to add an island of additional content in the same update.

Bellaphone Island will have three new dungeons:

• Hominidoid

  • Level 51 to 65

  • Two-Room Dungeon

• Sludgemonger

  • Level 51 to 65

  • Two-Room Dungeon

• Bellaphone Sisters

  • Level 66 to 80

  • Three-Player Dungeon

The island holds many secrets. Adventurers will find a number of hidden caves there, underwater exploration, and even celestial islands thanks to the all-new bird transformation feature players can unlock on this island's quest.

Professions

Lastly, we are planning a major professions update for year's end. First off, the new professions interface:

We already showed you the color-changing trees during the 25th anniversary celebration at the Japan Expo. They'll be in game soon, but that's not all!

We've revamped the tools to put them on the same level as the account.

We are also planning some minor changes to Stasis and Wakfu Island. At long last, you'll be able to explore all the biomes in the Haven Paddock!

Other major professions changes will be presented in a future Devblog.

Conclusion

We hope this article gives you a better idea of what you can expect in WAKFU update 1.94. We would like to note, however, that the items described in this article are still in development and are subject to change before the update comes out.
