Returning after playing long ago?

If you are returning after playing a long while ago, you might need to Migrate your old save to the new Save Slot system .

To do this, you will get a prompt to do so once you go to Begin > Normal Playthrough > Migrate Old Save.

If the "Migrate Old Save" doesn't show up and the slot says "0% COMPLETION", Delete the slot. After deleting the slot, the Migrate prompt should show up if you have an old save file stored.

NOTE: You can only migrate old save data to the new system if you have a "peaksSaveData.dat" file in the location below: Copy & Paste the path below into windows search , then press 'Enter'.

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\TraipseWare\Peaks of Yore

Should you run into trouble with the new save files "PeaksData_Normal_0.es3", then you can use the backup files which are stored in the same location: "Peaks of Yore\Mode_Normal\PeaksData_Normal_0.es3.bac". Simply remove the ".bac" extension in order to use the backup file.
