Developer's Preview #6: Second-Half Update

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Greetings from the Summoners War Dev Team!

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]In Korea, the mornings and evenings are becoming noticeably cooler, and the autumn sky seems higher by the day.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Autumn in Summoners War always comes with SWC, and the SWC2026 journey is now in full swing.

[p align="start"]Following the China Qualifier Main Round and Europe Cup, the Regional Cups continue to heat up, with the Americas Cup coming on Oct. 10 PDT and the Asia-Pacific Cup on Oct. 16 PDT!

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Who will become the best Summoner of the year? We hope you continue to follow SWC2026 all the way through to the World Finals.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Today, we would like to share some of the content we are preparing for an update in the second half of this year.

[p align="start"]We will introduce "Dimension Arena," a new PvP mode coming to the Dimension Hole, a new building where you can enjoy various minigames in one place, and "Summoner Mastery," which will record your progression as a Summoner.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]These features are still in the early stages of development and will continue to be refined, but we wanted to share our direction and the kind of experience we hope to create in advance. Please note that the details introduced today may change during development.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Let's dive into the sixth [Developer's Preview].

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]First, we would like to introduce Dimension Arena, a new asynchronous PvP mode currently in development.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Summoners War offers a wide variety of PvP content, including Arena, World Arena, Siege Battle, and World Guild Battle, all of which are enjoyed by many Summoners.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]PvP content, where you use your own Monsters and strategies to battle other Summoners, offers deep and competitive gameplay. However, differences in progression built up over years of play, such as the Monsters and Runes each Summoner owns, inevitably have a significant impact on battle results.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]We have been working to reduce these progression gaps and make PvP more accessible to more Summoners through changes such as the Arena League revamp, the addition of World Arena Support Monsters, and the introduction of new modes such as Challenge Battle.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]From there, we began considering another idea.

[p align="start"][Challenge Battle gives everyone the same Monster pool and Rune setups, while changing which Monsters are available in each battle to create varied real-time matches.

[p align="start"]What if there were an asynchronous PvP mode where everyone starts in the same environment but has limited chances to progress, adding new layers of strategy?]

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]This idea led us to begin developing [Dimension Arena], where Summoners can enjoy PvP each season under relatively equal progression conditions.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Although it will be located in the Dimension Hole, Dimension Arena will be an asynchronous PvP mode with a different structure from the existing dimensions.

[p align="start"]Think of it as a battlefield where everything needed for PvP that season, including Monsters, Runes, and Artifacts, is prepared from scratch within Dimension Arena.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Since it works somewhat differently from our existing PvP content, we would first like to summarize its main features before going into more detail.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]▶ Dimension Arena Monsters and equipment will be obtained separately within Dimension Arena.

[p align="start"]: Monsters, Runes, Artifacts, and currencies used in Dimension Arena can all be obtained in Dimension Arena.

[p align="start"]: Monsters and equipment you already own cannot be used in Dimension Arena. Likewise, Monsters and equipment obtained in Dimension Arena cannot be used in existing content.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]▶ You will build your deck by summoning exclusive Monsters that are fully leveled and set up.

[p align="start"]: Each season, you will receive a set number of [Dimension Scrolls (working title)] that can be used for free summons.

[p align="start"]: Monsters summoned with Dimension Scrolls will be 6★ at MAX level, have fully leveled skills, and come engraved with Runes and Artifacts.

[p align="start"]: You can obtain additional Runes and Artifacts in Dimension Arena and use them to develop your own setups.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]▶ Seasons will last one month, and everything will reset when the season ends.

[p align="start"]: Your season performance will remain in the form of tally rewards, while the next season will begin with a new concept.

[p align="start"]: Each season will feature special battle rules called Dimension Rules. The summon rates and summon pool of Dimension Scrolls will also be adjusted to create synergy with these rules.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]To help explain how Dimension Arena works, let's walk through the general flow of a season step by step.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]STEP 1. Summon Monsters through the Dimension Summon menu in Dimension Arena.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]When a season begins, you will first summon Monsters using exclusive scrolls. A set number of free summons will be provided at the start of each season.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]The Monsters available will come from a fixed pool based on the concept of that season. We are currently considering a pool of around 100 Monsters. You can think of it as similar to the summon list of Engraved Scrolls, where the Monsters available for summoning are determined in advance.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]As you continue summoning, you may get duplicates of Monsters you have already summoned. Duplicate Monsters can be converted into points, and we are also preparing a system that lets you use these points to select and summon a Monster from the season's summon pool.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]STEP 2. Build your deck with your own setups.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Summoned Monsters will be provided in the following state, meaning they can be used in battle immediately after summoning.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]: All Monsters will be summoned at 6★ / MAX Lv. / Awakened / MAX Skill Level.

[p align="start"]: Monsters will come with Legend Ancient Runes (Power-up Lv. 15) and Legend Artifacts already engraved.

[p align="start"]: Relics cannot be engraved on Monsters in Dimension Arena.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]This completes the initial setup. From there, you can use the Runes and Artifacts obtained in Dimension Arena to further refine each Monster with your own setups.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]We hope you enjoy deciding which Monsters to focus on and where to invest your best Runes as you develop your deck.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]STEP 3. Compete against Summoners from all servers in separate leagues.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Once your deck is ready, you will register a defense deck and begin battling in earnest. Dimension Arena is being designed as a system where Summoners from all servers are divided into leagues based on certain criteria and compete for victory points.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]You will also be able to earn a Dimension Arena-exclusive currency, [Dimension Coins (working title)], through battles.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Dimension Coins can be used in the Dimension Arena Shop to purchase scrolls, Runes, and Artifacts. Through this system, you will be able to gradually improve your deck as you continue battling throughout the season.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]STEP 4. Receive tally rewards when the season ends.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]When the season ends, tally rewards will be distributed based on your final grade. The Monsters and equipment used in Dimension Arena will reset at the end of the season, but tally rewards will be sent to your Inbox and can be used in other content.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]In addition to the season tally rewards, we are also considering allowing you to select and claim one Ancient Rune of your choice from among the Ancient Runes obtained during the Dimension Arena season. We recommend checking your Rune pool carefully and choosing a Rune that you need.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]STEP 5. Each season will feature new rules.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Each season will begin with different rules from the previous one. The summonable Monster pool will be newly configured according to each season's concept, and the battle format may also change between formats such as 3vs3 and 4vs4.

[p align="start"]We are preparing Dimension Arena as seasonal content so that each season can offer a different concept and encourage you to discover new strategies every time.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Several different directions are currently being considered for the concept of the first season.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Since each season resets and begins with a new set of battle rules, Monsters, and equipment, we expect Dimension Arena to offer an environment where Summoners can join at any point and compete with others under relatively similar progression conditions.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]That covers the overall direction of Dimension Arena. Details such as the season structure, concepts, and rewards are still under development, so we will share more information in a future Developer's Preview once preparations are further along.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]The second topic we would like to introduce is a new minigame building!

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]To provide Summoners with more lighthearted and varied content, we are preparing a new building where you can play several minigames all in one place.

[p align="start"]Until now, minigames have mainly been introduced for a limited time alongside collaborations or events. We are preparing a permanent home for these minigames so you can visit and play them whenever you want.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]To start, two minigames that many of you may remember from previous collaborations, [Summon Dice] and [Minigame Party], will open together.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]These minigames, which were previously available only for a limited time, will become permanent content so you can access them anytime. We are also designing the building with future expansion in mind so that new minigames can continue to be added over time.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Let us take a closer look at the two minigames currently in development.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]▶ Summon Dice

[p align="start"]First, [Summon Dice] will be added. This is a board game-style minigame based on the version first introduced during the Frieren collaboration, now being developed as permanent content.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]The core gameplay of using dice to battle bosses will remain the same, while we are preparing a wider variety of bosses and battles compared to the limited-time version.

[p align="start"]There will be two ways to play: Normal Mode and Infinite Mode. In Normal Mode, you will clear a set series of stages in order. Infinite Mode will challenge you to keep advancing through endless rounds and see just how far you can go.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]For Summoners who enjoyed the minigame during the collaboration, we hope the new bosses and Infinite Mode will give you a fresh reason to take on the challenge again. We are also curious to see how far you will be able to reach in Infinite Mode.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]▶ Minigame Party

[p align="start"]Second, [Minigame Party] will be added. This is a collection of casual minigames based on the version first introduced during the Demon Slayer collaboration, reworked for permanent release.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]You will be able to choose from different types of minigames, such as Flash Dash (Sprint Training), Hoop Hop (Obstacle Training), and Gurgle Burble (Water Dash Training).

[p align="start"]This time, instead of Collab Characters, you will be able to play the minigames with Original Summoners War Monsters.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]We hope you look forward to seeing which Monsters will appear and how they will take part once the update arrives!

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]The third topic we would like to introduce is Summoner Mastery.

[p align="start"]For Summoners who have been with Summoners War for a long time, your accounts hold countless records built up over the years, including carefully developed Runes and Artifacts, dungeon clear records, and the progress you have made climbing each floor of the towers.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]There may have been times when you wanted to look back on those records or see just how much you have grown. However, since these records are spread across different parts of the game, it has not been easy to view them all at once.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]That led us to prepare Summoner Mastery, a feature that brings these records together and converts them into scores.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]▶ What is Summoner Mastery?

[p align="start"]: Summoner Mastery converts a variety of your in-game activities into scores, including Rune and Artifact progression, PvE records from content such as Cairos Dungeon and Rift of Worlds, PvP records from Arena and guild content, as well as Monster collection and development.

[p align="start"]: Each category will have its own maximum achievable score.

[p align="start"]: You will be able to compare your Mastery Score with other Summoners.

[p align="start"]: Once a record is achieved, it will be retained permanently. For example, if you reach a certain Rune Mastery Score and later sell those Runes, your achieved Rune Mastery Score will remain unchanged.

[p align="start"]: Summoner Mastery will be available under the Profile menu in Summoner's Tower.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]As your journey through Summoners War will be reflected in scores and grades, we hope long-time Summoners will enjoy looking back on everything they have achieved, while Summoners with milestones still ahead can find new goals to work toward.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Summoner Mastery is still in the planning stage, and we are continuing to refine its categories and scoring system. We will share more detailed information as development progresses.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]That's all for today's Developer's Preview!

[p align="start"]The content introduced today is currently being prepared for an update in November. Further details and specific update schedules will be shared in a future Developer's Preview.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]We would like to thank all Summoners for your continued love and support for Summoners War. We will continue sharing the ideas we are working on and doing our best to bring you even more enjoyable experiences.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]We will be back with more exciting news next time.

[p align="start"]

[p align="start"]Thank you.
