Patch #9: Balancing and Fixes

Patch number 9 brings some balancing changes, bug fixes and improvements. Tomorrow there will be a more detailed post about the upcoming big REDACTED Update 1 that will arrive next week!

Most importantly, we balanced the new Xeno DNA city mission to make sure enemy reinforcements are not too overwhelming anymore for more cautious players. Besides that, you can find all the other changes and improvements in the changelog below:

Improvements

• Enemy vehicles will now also destroy light forests by driving through them

• Remaining ERA accessory uses are now shown in the UI

• The 'Vanguard' perk no longer applies during story missions

Bugfixes

• FIXED Alien melee attacks can now be countered with the 'Counter Strike' perk

• FIXED Drug accessories are now refilled by the 'Scavenger' perk crate

• FIXED Units can now immediately sabotage if they spawn inside an objective area

• FIXED The event 'Terrorist Captured' affected all Waybackers instead of all Marines

• FIXED Rescued squaddies got assigned to their leader, even when the leader was permanently dead

• FIXED Added a correct inactive portrait for Ivey 

• Many UI fixes and tweaks

Balancing

• 'Corrupt Xeno Hatchling DNA' Mission

  • Reinforcements aren't unlimited anymore

  • Reduced reinforcements rate

• Slightly buffed the enemy forces in the POW Rescue Rogue Army mission

• Increased max range of rocket launchers from 8 to 9

• Reduced max range of autocannons from 10 to 9

• Reduced ideal range of miniguns from 4 to 3

Known Issues

• Some antivirus programs incorrectly classify the "GameAssembly.dll" file as malware and delete it, making the game unplayable. If that happens, please whitelist the "GameAssembly.dll" and "Menace.exe".

• If the game is installed on HDD drives, loading times are bad and barks are delayed.

• Display mode "Fullscreen" sometimes behaves not as expected, after minimizing the game. Until this is fixed please consider using "Fullscreen Window" instead.

• Setting the 'Grass Quality' setting to high/ultra can cause FPS drops and crashes.

• The promotion tax mechanic is frustrating and will be changed soon.
