It’s time for our Creepy Waters update!

Hey fish gang,

We have a big creepy update just in time for Halloween!

What’s in the Creepy Waters Update: (Full Patch Notes Below)

🐙 New creatures: Ghost Shark, Vampire Squid, Coffin Fish, Dwarf Octopus, Common Octopus, Cownose Ray and Sea Sheep.

**🎃 Halloween Event: **Brand new limited time decorations, a background, and a new soil type. The rewards of the old Halloween event have been moved to the daily shop rotation.

🩵 Spectral fish badge: a fishing exclusive badge that makes fish translucent and glowing eerie blue. (more likely to be caught when fishing at night!)

🥇 Aquarium competitions: enter your tank, vote for others and win rewards. The first competition is themed around Halloween, and will reward shells depending on your ranking.

**📛 New Badge Remover Item: **can be used to remove a badge from a fish

🪙 DLC shop: unlocked DLC decorations can now be bought any amount of times from the DLC shop using in-game currency.

**3️⃣ New Soil and Background Options: **customise your aquarium with 3 new soils and 3 new backgrounds

👻 Halloween Event 2026

• **6 event quests **instead of 3, plus a reward shop full of spooky decorations: Eye-In-A-Jar, Pumpkin Plant, Halloween Candies, Danger Sign, Scarecrow and more

• New fish: Ghost Shark, Vampire Squid, Coffin Fish, Common Octopus, Dwarf Octopus, Cownose Ray and Sea Sheep

• New badge: Spectral, a see-through ghostly effect that glows eerie green and blue

• New item: Badge Remover, which removes a badge of your choice from a fish

• Blue Ghost Sloop, a spectral boat skin with an eerie blue glow

Tanks & Decoration

• 3 new backgrounds: Kelp Forest, Midnight Trench, Sunken Ruins

• 3 new soils: Abyssal Glow, Riverbed Pebble, Volcanic Sand

• Name your tanks (names are only visible to you)

• Hide fish toggle in Decorate mode

Fish & Breeding

• The Friendship Egg now hatches five new Friendly fish: Lionfish, Bass, Flying Fish, Oscar and Pufferfish

• Albino and Melanism births now get a full-screen celebration

• Fish of the Week rolls Albino and Melanism at twice the chance

Shop & Market

• DLC Shop tab: daily offers from your DLC packs, one tab per pack. Packs you don’t own show a preview and a Purchase button

• The Online Market button shows how many fish are on sale

• The shop shows how many of the selected item you already own

Social & Online

• Fishing lobbies: notable catches get a line in the lobby chat

• The friend list shows each friend’s level

• Visiting: the Tanks button shows how many tanks the player has

Quality of Life

• What’s New window: patch notes appear once per update and can be reopened from the menu

• Resizable window: in windowed mode, the game window can be resized and remembers its size

• Fishing button prompts match what you last used, keyboard or controller

⚖️ Changes

• Market: Albino and Melanism add a flat amount to a fish’s minimum price

• Fish listed on the Market can’t be changed. Items and renaming ask you to unpublish the fish first

• Locked fish can’t be mutated

• Breeding Potion: tells you when a fish is already ready to breed, and is no longer used up in that case

• Fish info: when the Breed button is greyed out on special fish, it now says why

• Shrimps roam the whole tank instead of lining up along the glass

• The Ban dialog asks whether you want to send an appeal

🎣 Fishing Lobbies

• Lobbies recover from dropped connections, and ghost lobbies no longer show up

• If the host leaves, hosting passes to another player, and boats keep their spot and heading

• Boats no longer drop out after a lag spike

• Joining a lobby no longer briefly freezes the game for each player already in it

• Your boat’s swim sound no longer stops when someone joins

• Only your own boat has the green circle; other boats get their hover outline back

• Lobby chat no longer jumps to the bottom while you’re scrolled up reading

• The Blue Glow boat effect is now visible on the water

• Fixed an error when leaving during a host change

🐛 Fixes

Saves & Market

• Fixed a fish duplication bug involving the Market

• Storage keeps the slots you bought, even after an older game version opened the save

Gameplay

• Items like the Breeding Potion now go to the fish under your cursor, not a fish next to it

• Daily quests: only one quest shows the 15-shell reward and pays it

• InstaClean clears the algae specks left after a fishing trip

• Mutation size changes show on the fish right away

Fish & Tank Visuals

• Fish no longer nose-dive into the sand, and they swim to the tank edges again

• Snails and sea bunnies no longer get stuck facing a decoration

• Mint, Coral and Golden soils no longer have hard-edged patches

• Decorations can be selected anywhere on their body again

• The Glow badge stays visible on small fish

• The cleaning sound follows the sponge

• Tank previews update after you change the No fog setting

Platform & Steam

• Steam achievements: one failed stat no longer blocks the others

🖥️ UI Polish

• Fish window, FishDex and Fish info layouts are cleaned up

• The tank switch transition is softer

• The Fish list keeps its scroll position when you close and reopen it

• Fish status icons follow your Interface Size

• Lots of fixes for text overflowing or getting cut off in the shop, tanks, Market, Fish list, etc.
