CONVRGENCE is out of Early Access!
Hello, hunters!
Nik here - solo developer and creator of CONVRGENCE.
The day has finally come - the game is officially out of Early Access! Thank you for being with me on this journey, and welcome to CONVRGENCE 1.0!
UPDATE 1.0
Please note that due to the major quest rework and the addition of the story, your main mission progress and Reputation level have been reset. All other progress - unlocked upgrades, weapons, attachments, side quests, etc. - has been preserved.
WHAT'S NEW
Main Mission Rework
-
Many of the old missions have either been reworked or completely replaced.
-
Every mission now has a narrative purpose, with an overarching story tying them all together.
-
The amount of grinding required for missions has been significantly reduced.
-
The main story now has almost no fetch missions.
Story
-
The game now features a fully voiced story and an ending.
-
After completing the story, you can continue playing to finish any remaining side activities.
-
New places to visit, new items, new characters, and, of course, a new final location have been created specifically for the story.
New Location
-
A new location has been added - the Epicenter.
-
Access to it is unlocked at the very end of the story, and this is where the finale of your journey takes place.
New Weapon
-
A new weapon has been added - PB pistol.
-
It can be found in one of the stashes in the Forest.
Completion Statistics
- For those who like to complete as much of the game's content as possible, there is now a statistics screen in the player's room that makes it easier to track your overall progress.
New Difficulty Modifiers
- A new difficulty modifier has been added - Infinite Insurance.
It can be used with any difficulty preset. When you die, you will never lose your equipment, removing the need to purchase insurance.
- A new difficulty modifier has been added - Permadeath.
For those who enjoyed the hardcore experience of the Realistic difficulty added in Update 0.9.1, you can now raise the stakes even further. If you die, all of your playthrough progress is erased. Not even insurance will save you (strongly not recommended for new players).
- Both modifiers can only be changed from the main menu or while you are at the base. Once you're in a raid, you won't be able to change your mind and adjust them.
New Side Activities / Collectibles in Raids
-
Added a new side activity involving finding hunters' PDAs.
-
Added a new side activity involving finding and destroying sensors.
More Variety in Location Generation
-
Every existing location now has something new to discover. For example, you may find passages through windows in ground-floor apartments in the city, or routes through containers in the garages.
-
More environmental details have been added to the apartment building entrances in the Dead City, including radiators, mailboxes, clutter under the stairs, and more.
Creator Camera
-
A special camera has been added to make creating content for the game more convenient.
-
In the settings, you can choose which eye is displayed on your PC monitor, increase the FOV, and enable stabilization to smooth out head movement and reduce camera shake.
-
Please note that enabling the additional camera and increasing its FOV will affect performance!
Cloud Saves
-
Cloud saves have finally been added to the game - no more losing your progress when switching to a new PC or reinstalling your system!
-
Make sure to launch the game so your save can be uploaded to the cloud.
-
Unfortunately, if your locally stored save was already lost before the release of 1.0, you will have to start the game over from scratch.
Other Additions
-
Added new loot.
-
Added new yellow tutorial notes to the shooting range in the hideout.
-
Added additional environmental storytelling elements to the hideout.
-
Added new loudspeaker announcements.
-
Added unique rewards for Early Access veterans and Paradox of Hope veterans.
-
Added a new Supporter Pack.
-
Added 40 new Steam achievements (most of them currently have temporary anomalous teapot icons).
-
Knives can now be used to open cans.
-
The Double-Barrel Shotgun shell holder and Crossbow quiver can now be loaded directly from ammo boxes.
-
A new competitive season has begun. Leaderboard results have been reset.
CHANGES
-
Changes have been made to some existing character dialogue and notes. A 20th note has also been added.
-
Dispatcher messages during raids now play slightly less frequently.
-
The Drunk Hunter questline is now available from the very beginning of the game.
-
Access to new areas of the hideout is initially blocked and gradually opens as you progress through the story.
-
The Lead Shielding vehicle upgrade is now unlocked through story progression rather than at Reputation 6.
-
Slightly increased the spawn chance of Brute Demons.
-
Slightly increased the spawn chance of car first aid kits in vehicle trunks.
-
Significantly increased the spawn chance of cigars in the city.
-
If a boss is required for an active mission, it will now spawn in every raid.
-
The value of an attached PPSh magazine, Mosin scope, and Double-Barrel Shotgun shell holder is now taken into account when selling a weapon.
-
During the first two raids in the Forest, when the map size is restricted, the boundaries of the playable area are now more clearly indicated.
-
By default, even without the new Creator Camera enabled, the game now displays the view from the right eye on the monitor.
-
Truffle's inventory now refreshes twice a day instead of once every 24 hours.
-
The headlamp will now occasionally flicker.
-
Snipers in the city can no longer shoot vertically straight up or down. Their vertical field of view is now realistically limited.
-
Gunstock Mode has been renamed to Physical Gunstock to make its purpose clearer. If your long guns suddenly stop being controlled by your front hand on the foregrip, you have this mode enabled.
-
The descriptions for the height and belt adjustment settings have been made clearer.
-
The old achievement-based progress recovery system, which was temporarily used before cloud saves were introduced, has been disabled.
-
When mods are detected, the game will no longer upload results to the leaderboards.
