September - Seasonal Leaderboards and a Community Map

Hello Shorks and Divers, the waters have been calm for a while, but we’ve been working hard beneath the waves on this update.

Seasonal Leaderboards

Leaderboards have always been a part of Depth, giving everyone a chance to see who’s the best there is at what they do. While we enjoy seeing how players can rake up ELEVENTY ZILLION kills and/or points, It does make it harder than ever for newcomers to break into the upper ranks.

With today’s patch, we are bringing in Seasonal Leaderboards. Unlike the standard leaderboards, Seasonal Leaderboards will reset after a set duration. So, worry not, whatever progress you have on the Leaderboards will not be affected; and all progress made will be tracked in both leaderboards.

Do note that this is an experimental feature so the first few iterations will be for testing and squashing any bugs that might pop up.

In addition, we are adding a new variable to the leaderboard: Sharks Welded. Even the predators of the deep will fear the power of the welding tool.

The first few iterations of Seasonal Leaderboards will be running alongside a shortened remix event, so that we can take in player feedback and fine tune the feature. The remix event itself will also have its reward track adjusted to take into account the shorter runtime.

Note: The remix event will go live tomorrow.

You can check your rankings in the *Seasonal Leaderboards *tab under Profile, where News used to be.

Introducing Sinkhole - A Community Made Map

Today, we’re adding another location to Depth’s pool of maps, playable today!

*Captain Stubbs is contracted to retrieve data from an abandoned Exogel research station, the company behind the crude oil rig disaster. But what begins as a routine salvage mission turns into a treacherous descent through a rusting corporate facility, a submerged Aztec temple, and a secret high-security containment lab hidden deep within the sinkhole. *

Not everything is as it seems.

This is a map made by Fishy over the course of six years.

This isn't something we normally do, but after hearing from so many players who wanted to see this released, we decided to listen. We're making an exception this time!

Hadal Orb change

The Hadal Orb reward has now changed from Mako Rider to Cetus Tau. So start grinding and trade in those orbs!

This shark skin upgrades its appearance as you kill divers!

Community bundle #3 delayed

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are delaying Community Bundle #3 until further notice.

Next month will be the start of our balancing run for Depth, and we will be working together with the community to get a better idea of what needs fixing.
