Summer's Almost Gone

Just as the late great poet James Douglas Morrison once said, "When summer's gone, where will we be?"

Well I know where I'll be and it won't be in school because I did my time already! My condolences to everyone currently packing their long forgotten schoolbags with fresh pencils, notebooks, and keshi-gomu ("erasers" in Japanese). If that's you, I know there are a thousand other things you would rather do than get up early and hurry off to math class but hear me out! You also get to rejoin your crew, tell epic summer stories, and maybe even make some cool new friends. Don't take your school years for granted! Once you're thrust out into society and the world of having to make money to pay rent, you can't go back in time and hang with your peeps. Enjoy it while it lasts!

May I Present A Virtual Classroom?

Speaking of school I was never one for the traditional classroom method of learning and struggled a LOT through four (yes, four) different high schools before graduating and somehow getting into college (despite getting expelled from three of them - one of them twice!). I was way more into exploring the many virtual spaces of video games during the beautiful era of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and San Andreas. I ultimately developed Influent to give others like me a cool way to learn that aims to keep the process interesting and fun. The static 3D space is another game-world like any other that can be burned into your brain forevermore. Believe it or not, it will help with memorization of foreign vocab in a snap.

Does Influent Make You Fluent?

Influent won't make you fluent or teach you grammar or how to form sentences but it will give you a robust vocabulary in any of the over 20 languages available. There are a lot of great resources out there for learning grammar and basic phrases but the main focus of Influent is on Vocabulary Acquisition and Pronunciation. You can study your custom vocab lists in a number of ways to help you with reading, listening, and identification. You can also fly a remote controlled space ship and blast all the objects on your list with lasers!
