2.4 Is here
Sorry for the year delay. I hope all these new features make it up to you all.
Update 2.4: Build Your Own Levels
Five new levels, and the thing a lot of you have asked for: a proper level
editor, with level files you can send to your friends.
FIVE NEW LEVELS
The campaign runs to 20 now, and the back half of the map gets meaner.
16 – Crow's Nest: a five-story fort with a mast you'll want to drop
17 – The Long Wall: wide, two masts, nowhere good to aim
18 – Twin Keeps: two forts, one pile of cannonballs
19 – The Citadel: six floors and a cannon on nearly every one
20 – Kraken's Roost: 83 pirates. Good luck.
THE LEVEL WORKSHOP
There's an Editor button on the main menu now.
Place crates, planks, beams, sails, powder kegs, cannons, palms and pirates
from the palette, straight onto the grid. Name your level and save it, and keep
as many as you like.
Hit Play and it runs like any campaign level, with real physics and a real win
condition. You get two cannonballs per pirate you placed.
SHARE YOUR LEVELS
This is the fun part. Hit Export and your level is written out as a .ccl file in
your Downloads folder. Send that file to anyone running the game, over Discord
or email or whatever you like. They hit Levels, then Import .ccl file, and it
drops into their list ready to play.
They're small, plain text files, so they're easy to pass around and post. A
sample level ships with the game if you want to see one first.
FIXES
Clearing the final level now records properly. The progress table had room for
exactly 20 entries, which level 20 didn't quite fit into.
Picking a piece from the editor palette no longer drops a stray block wherever
your cursor happened to be.
MAC
A macOS build is finished and in testing, and it'll land on Steam shortly.
Apple Silicon, native, all 20 levels and the Workshop included.
Thanks for playing. Post your levels, I want to see what you build.
