DISTRAINT: Deluxe Edition 2024 Update

Hey folks!

It has been a while since the latest update. I've heard from some folks that they were having problems launching the game. I hope this update fixes the missing steamworks.mfx error!

STEAM DECK

While updating, I made the necessary changes for that sweet Steam Deck Verified badge. I will submit DISTRAINT: Deluxe Edition and DISTRAINT 2 for the verification. I've completed both DISTRAINT games with my Steam Deck without any problems, so I believe it is only a matter of time before both games are officially verified.

FONT

Likely, the most significant change I made is updating the font to the fantastic Silver font by Poppy Works. This font supports all languages, although it might miss a word or two in Chinese/Korean/Japanese. LEGACY EDITION

Due to outdated code and compatibility, I removed "DISTRAINT Legacy Edition" from the default branch.

I've created a new "legacy" branch that includes the old build. You can access this build by right-clicking DISTRAINT: Deluxe Edition on Steam -> Properties... -> Betas -> Beta Participation and selecting "legacy" from the drop-down menu.

Note that this is an old build that I'm no longer updating.

POSSIBLE WINDOWS SCALING BUG

While testing, I noticed Windows scaling setting affected font rendering. If you're having a hard time reading the subtitles, please try setting your Windows "Scale" to 100%. You can find this setting from "Display settings" -> "Scale".
