Who is the Bookworm?

At the Hellsong Tavern, you can hear many stories from demons. But the most notable is the story of the demon Daren, who managed to find the ancient library of Irman, Vagroth's right hand. Together with his trusted friend Malik, he explored the mountains to the north and found a passage that led them to the library.

The companions explored the unusual place and turned into the combat grimoires section. They expected to find scrolls or books that would help them rain down meteorites on their enemies. But instead, they saw it—a worm, its body composed of thousands of interwoven spines. It didn't crawl. It rolled, its pages rustling, like a living encyclopedia of fury.

The worm attacked the demons, and they fled. But when the companions reached the chronicles section, the beast stopped pursuing them. That's when Daren realized the monster didn't want to kill them. He merely guards his sector. Surely the library itself grows such guardians from dusty tomes. And this was only the first monster the demons encountered.
