Main Weapon
Ordinary cooks keep a calendar or recipe sheets on the wall. In Argont's kitchen, a frying pan with a spoon and fork hung on the wall. The frying pan was as wide as the entrance to the royal stables. The spoon was the size of a convict's paddle. The fork was like a bear spear. Arlene swears that these aren't utensils, but the kitchen's main weapon.
These items were used in two situations: when the salt ran out, or when yet another Nameless One declared that "dinner was too salty." With the frying pan, cooks countered spells and chased away insolent guests, with the spoon, they dispersed crowds of hungry ghosts, and with the fork, they scooped up particularly angry patrons and tossed them into the Abyss. "No one dares criticize my cooking if they can't peel a potato themselves," Argont liked to say, stunning yet another Nameless One with the frying pan.
