Ready for a special soup?
Everyone in Argont's kitchen was strange. But Arlene considered a rat named Rathi the strangest. He was small, about the size of a palm. He never took off his chef's hat. And he always carried various herbs and pollen on his back. Arlene was sure he had pollen from the Abyss itself in his backpack.
Rathi's main dish was soup. He was an excellent cook of star soup, bottomless, crispy stew, and astronomical Gargantua. Rathi stirred the ingredients with his spoon, which he never let go of. "I can stir the soup and the Abyss itself with this spoon, if I want," he squeaked.
Rathi was the kitchen's soup star. Once, Ag'Haldr himself ordered oblivion soup from him, but Rathi made the rat a regular mushroom soup, saying, "You won't remember what you ordered anyway." The Nameless One burst out laughing and, as a reward, showed Rathy the Sphere, which he didn't like. "Too crowded, too demonic. And no one even fights rats," the soup master said of our world.
