Update 6. Bots. New Phone Controllers. Lots of small improvements.

We finished off some things we always wanted to add.

The biggest addition is bots. CPU players. It's still most fun with three or more humans, but now you can fill spare places with bots if you want a more lively match, up to eight human/bot racers in total.

Bots choose routes through the terrain and use power-ups. If another human wants to join during a race, they can take over a bot using a controller or their phone.

Phone controllers have been rebuilt and added back in, as a webpage served by the game itself rather than as a separate app.

To use your phone as a controller:

• Turn on phone controller mode in the settings screen.
• Connect your phone to the same WiFi network as the computer running the game.
• Use the phone to scan the QR code on the join screen, then tap the link to open the controller in your mobile browser. Follow the instructions on-screen.

There are changes elsewhere too:

• Reworked settings and pause menus, with saved preferences, volume control, and display options.
• Teleport now jumps a fixed distance with a single button press.
• Various updated sounds
• Fixes to score displays and transitions between races.

This update is Windows-only for now, we don’t have easy access to a Mac. If you run into any problems, let us know. If you need to go back to the previous version because of any issue, right-click the game in Steam, open Properties > Betas, and choose the [c]previousupdate[/c] branch.
