Chess Infinity | March Major Update Now Live

A new Major Update is now available for Chess Infinity on all platforms.

The update addresses a number of known issues with the base game. Be sure to update before you next play for the best possible experience.

Update Features

QoL Adjustments

• Lighting improvements: across all in-game environments, particularly attention paid to darker environments.

• Chess set readability: improvement readability across various environments and times of day.

• Level loading screens now match the environment you choose.

• Added an additional camera option to enable focus on pieces.

• Adjustment to the game rating system to better reflect your actual performance in each game.

• New intro cameras for the environments.

Bug Fixes

• Fixes to the dynamic weather to stop it raining more than it should.

• Fixed an issue with favourited chess sets so that it retains its place in the list.

• Fixed an issue with a glitched butterfly stuck in mid air in the Japanese environment.

• Fixes where sometimes the player could lose input focus.

• Fixed an issue where VFX audio may still play even when VFX is turned off.

• Fixed a rare bug that caused the game to occasionally lock on checkmate.

• Fixed a rare bug that caused pieces to levitate in lessons.

Performance Optimisations

• Various audio improvements.

• Ray tracing now enabled and set as default (PC only).

PS5 Pro Enhancements

• Introduced 'Performance' and 'Fidelity' modes for PS5 Pro - both modes offering ray tracing and optimising either frame rate or resolution.

• Note: ray tracing is enabled by default on PS5 Pro ONLY.
