The introduction of Reductive Metallurgy fundamentally changed the way metallic value was measured. This had many subsequent effects in the field of mining, which was previously regarded as a mature, even stagnant field. The reevaluation of long-existing mining and prospecting techniques ushered in a new wave of efficiencies and innovations, in the process making and unmaking vast fortunes.
