5.827 Additional Tutorials

Lots of additions, including new tutorials and other improvements to the new-player experience. All of this is thanks to Badger.

5.827 Changelog

General

• Fix some bugs with the AISyncWaves and AISyncCPA features
• Fix a bug where Nomad Planets could give you additional vision of the galaxy
• Add some defensive code to TMP
• Minor visual tweaks to a couple menus.

New Player Experience

• Improve in-game tips and journal entries to better explain Warden Fleet Bases and Gate Raiding. These are things that new players have been consistently confused about
• Add two new tutorials. One covers claiming and defending an AI planet. The other covers the Fleet menu in more detail

Necromancer

• Reduce the Templar wave income for Templar Difficulties below 10.
• Necromancer hacks that provoke a templar response now give some idea of how powerful they will be
• Fix some bugs in the Elite Templar spawning code.
• Elite Templar will no longer completely replace non-elite templar at higher AIP levels. This allows the Necromancer to still get income at higher AIP levels. Previously the lack of resources from regular Templar was a real problem for Necromancer players in high-AIP multiplayer games (for example, Necromancer + Fallen Spire)
• Buff the elite templar since there are now fewer of them

Forge of Empires

• Tweak the Reaper scaling a bit to scale more smoothly from difficulty 5-10
• Tweaks to a few armada ships
• Make shield templar lean even more into their defensive identiy

Balance

• Quick adjustment made to the strength multiplier property of Cursed Golem and associated transformations to better represent how lethal it is even with its fragility because of paralysis. Generally this was a doubling from previous rating. However the Expletive transformation got hit with a tripled multiplier because of the gigantic damage and extra long paralysis.
• Also toned down the strength multiplier for Scythe Wards a little.
