Feature Preview #3: Revive in Battle and Craft from Nearby Storage

Hello, Explorers!

Today, we are highlighting two practical improvements coming in the next update—one designed to give you another chance when an expedition goes wrong, and another that takes much of the busywork out of crafting and construction.

Get Back in the Fight with the Revival Doll

Ruins and Boss encounters can turn deadly in an instant. To give Explorers a little more room for error during these high-risk battles, Terracrypt introduces a new craftable item: the Revival Doll.

After gathering the required materials, you will be able to craft Revival Dolls at a workbench and carry them with you for emergencies.

If you fall inside an underground Ruin or Boss arena, a revival prompt will appear. Consume one Revival Doll to rise where you fell and jump straight back into the fight.

How the Revival Doll Works

Underground use only

Revival Dolls can only be used inside Ruins and Boss arenas in the underground world. They cannot be used while exploring the overworld.

Keep one in your hotbar

We recommend storing Revival Dolls in your hotbar so they will not be dropped when you die.

No revival cooldown

There is no cooldown between uses. As long as you have another Revival Doll with you, you can use it to revive again.

Your inventory still drops

The doll revives your character where you fell, but the items in your inventory will still be dropped at the place of death. You will need to find an opening in the fight to recover them.

No temporary invulnerability

Reviving does not grant any period of invulnerability, so be ready to move the moment you return.

The Revival Doll also requires enough open space to restore your character. If your death location is blocked by a structure, creature, or another obstruction, the revival may fail. Watch your positioning carefully when the battle gets hectic.

Craft Directly from Nearby Storage

Building an ambitious base should not mean constantly carrying materials back and forth between storage boxes and workbenches.

To make crafting and construction less cumbersome, the update will introduce crafting from nearby storage, a new quality-of-life feature available to all players.

When the materials required by a recipe are stored in nearby containers, you will no longer need to move them into your inventory first. The crafting system will automatically find and consume eligible materials from storage within range.

How Nearby Storage Crafting Works

11 × 11 search area

The system searches an 11 × 11 area centered on your character or the workbench being used. Storage containers outside that area will not be detected.

Storage materials are used first

When crafting, the system will consume available materials from nearby storage containers before using materials from your character inventory.

Materials stay where they belong

Ingredients are consumed directly from storage rather than being moved into your inventory. Anything left over after crafting remains safely inside the original container.

Whether you are fighting for your life in a Boss arena or putting the finishing touches on a sprawling new base, we hope these improvements let you spend less time recovering from setbacks and managing materials—and more time exploring, building, and adventuring.
