One Last Bug, One Ready Update

Hey everyone!

It's been a great week, and after going through your feedback, it looks like the game is pretty stable. Let me tell you about it right away.

This week's recap

I read through your bug reports, there weren't many, in fact I only got one, and it's about studio directors. It's not too serious, but still worth mentioning. Say you're developing a game, and at the same time you've got a studio director with a whole team in charge of porting all your games.

You're clever, no denying it. But you could still run into a bug. You're still developing that game, and it's ready to be published. The thing is, hype isn't at 100% yet, so you're patiently waiting for it to build up. And since the game is ready to release, the studio director ports it to other consoles. And as soon as a port is ready, they publish it right away, without waiting for hype to hit 100%. For one, that's not great. But more importantly, that makes the panel for the game currently in development disappear, making it impossible to publish the original game.

So I reworked how the studio director works. Instead of publishing the port right away, they'll now put it on hold. Meaning, you're the one who decides when to publish the game's port. And while it's on hold, the studio director will move on to new tasks instead of waiting around for you.

What's coming next

As you can see, just one bug fixed, but a bit of a tricky one, I'll admit. Still, that means v1.28.0 is nearly ready. All that's left for me to do is prepare the release announcements, the Steam page banners, the discounts, yeah, the whole marketing side of shipping a game.

But you might rightly point out that September 23rd is next week, and that I could add more content. Except, on September 18th, Fortune Avenue launched on Steam. That's version 1.0, and here's a little exclusive: Fortune Avenue will come out on Nintendo Switch sometime in October. So I've been spending a lot of time on Fortune Avenue to make it the best Monopoly-style game it can be.

And once it's out, Fortune Avenue will go into maintenance mode, just like Sneak In. Meaning I'll fix bugs and add a bit of content here and there. That'll let me focus on City Game Studio and on the next project, which will also be a management sim. Don't worry though, as long as City Game Studio 2 isn't out, I'll keep working on the original and giving you quarterly updates!

To put it simply, the only thing changing in October is that I'll be working on another game alongside City Game Studio, instead of Fortune Avenue.

I hope that's all clear, thank you for reading. See you next week. In the meantime, take care of yourselves Xavier aka Binogure
