The Eagle Warriors serve Huitzilopochtli, the Aztec god of the sun and war. To them, captives are not mere loot, but messengers to the divine. Their combat is highly ritualistic: hunt down, subdue, and deliver the enemy to their god.

The Jaguar Warriors are tied to Tezcatlipoca, the "Smoking Mirror," symbolizing power and dominance under the cover of night. Their worth is proven not by simply killing, but by mauling, suppressing, and capturing their foes.

The Eagle represents the sun, the Jaguar the night—together, they form the dual day-and-night guard of the Aztec elite.

Captives

In Aztec culture, captives are divine messengers and symbols of a warrior's status.

This is why both units feature the special tag [Ritual War], a mechanic centered around killing, capturing, and restoring unit numbers.

While both units share the brutal background of ritual combat and human sacrifice, their battlefield roles in Conqueror's Blade are distinctly different.

The Eagle Warriors excel at mobility, pursuit, and pinning down the enemy. They are a nightmare for foes trying to retreat, reposition, or keep their distance. High-speed approaches, movement-slowing crowd control, and relentless harassment are their true strengths.

Although both the Eagle Warriors and the Jaguar Warriors share the [Ritual War] tag, their methods of creating capture opportunities are vastly different.

If you need a melee unit to actively pursue, pin down, and eliminate retreating enemies, the Eagle Warriors are the perfect choice.

However, if you require a unit that applies constant pressure in close combat, wearing targets down with armor penetration and bleeding, the Jaguar Warriors are the better option.
