How do warriors born to Sacrifice fight?

"Faith"

The patron deity of the Shorn Ones is Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent god of Aztec belief.

They shave their heads, leaving only a single braid, and paint their scalps and faces blue and yellow—blue for the god of war, yellow for the sun and sacrifice. Towering back-banners make them look like marching idols on the battlefield.

Swearing an oath never to take a single step backward mentally prepares them for the ultimate sacrifice. In life, they ceaselessly offer their enemies to the gods; in death, they themselves become the perfect offering to the sun.

They are both the sacrificers and the sacrifice.

In the Aztec context, a warrior's valor on the battlefield is an offering to the gods.

What Makes This 5-Star Unit So Different?

They can advance behind their shields, and once engaged, use their Serrated Macuahuitl to tear open enemy defenses. The razor-sharp obsidian edges shred targets to inflict bleeding, while the massive wooden core delivers crushing blunt force.

Once enemies are dragged into a grinding melee with the [Shorn Ones], they will face an overwhelming, inescapable cycle of bleeds, counterattacks, and relentless forward momentum.

Unit Role Overview

The key to mastering the [Shorn Ones] is turning a single clash into a relentless meat-grinder.

Once they close in on a target, the frontline soldiers raise shields to absorb pressure and pry open the defenses. The rest of the unit quickly follows up, crushing the enemy under a barrage of strikes and bleeds.

When the enemy tries to fight back, the Shorn Ones use their shields and Macuahuitl to counterattack, constantly shoving the frontline forward.

Of course, such a unit requires careful timing. They belong in critical, hotly contested chokepoints, rather than charging blindly into mass crowd-control and focused fire.
