Patch Notes

UI & Localization

• Simplified Chinese Support: Thanks to the help of users GEGT and Cattsilisk the core game and major menus have been fully localized for Simplified Chinese (zh).

• Editor Notice: The Level Editor is still in development and currently remains in English.

Graphics & Settings

• Anti-Aliasing: Added a new Anti-Aliasing setting to the graphics menu, featuring FXAA and SMAA options for improved visuals.

• Frame Rate Limit: Added a Frame Rate limit setting, including an Uncapped option, to give full control over performance.

Replays & Stability

• Replay Stability: Fixed a major bug that caused severe lag spikes and engine freezes during chaotic replays.

• Gore Accuracy: Greatly improved blood and gore accuracy in replays, ensuring hit decals and severed limbs sync perfectly with the original gameplay.

Level Updates Teaser: A Message From OptionalSpace

Hello Maximum Action fans! I'm excited to share a look at some upcoming level updates for Maximum Action. With recent improvements to the replay system, I am planning to refine several existing levels to make encounters tighter, layouts more purposeful, and to make sure replays are action packed . The Town level from High Noon to Yuma is currently undergoing a full layout overhaul.

Building on everything we loved about the original, I am working to improve the building scale, texture use, and streamlining the environments to keep your momentum going. Ensuring every room is purposefully built for chaos and cutting out the empty space.

This new white‑box layout focuses on improving player navigation with more options, better cover placement and adding new enterable buildings that open up opportunities for shootouts and unique replay moments.

I am also looking to improve other classic levels, including Rooftop, Restaurant, Nightclub, and Good Luck Parking, ensuring each scene is packed with Maximum Action. For players who prefer the classic versions, don’t worry, those aren’t going anywhere.

DELETED SCENES TAPE

Original levels will be available under a new “Deleted Scenes” VHS on the level select screen. For playing classic versions of levels and other fun bits from the cutting room floor. Thank you all for your continued support! -OptionalSpace
