Work Manager – Automated Work Priorities And Schedules

Work Manager is a mod that automates colonist work priorities in your colony. It adjusts assignments based on the current situation, pawn skills, passions, and your configured preferences.

RimWorld 1.6 Update

The 1.6 version of the mod introduced a dependency on the 'LordKuper.Common' mod. Make sure to subscribe to it and enable it for the mod to function. If you are still using the pre-1.6 version, you can ignore this dependency and continue playing without it.

How It Works

The Work Manager mod refreshes colonist priorities multiple times per day (configurable via the 'Update Frequency' setting). The default refresh rate is once per in-game hour, and it can be increased for greater responsiveness.

Priority Assignment

Priorities are assigned as follows (configurable):

• Priority 1: Dedicated roles or highest-skilled colonists.

• Priority 2: Work types matching colonists' major passions or high skill learning rate.

• Priority 3: Work types matching minor passions or moderate learning rates.

• Priority 4: Remaining work types to ensure no tasks are left undone.

Automatic Assignment Features

• Excludes dead, incapacitated, or mentally unstable pawns automatically.

• Prioritizes patient care and bed rest for recovering pawns.

• Applies special rules for doctors and hunters to allocate tasks appropriately.

• Assigns dedicated workers based on skill and passion.

• Ensures idle pawns are given available tasks.

Customization

The mod can be configured to fit different playstyles:

• Automation can be toggled via the Work tab or individually per colonist.

• Priorities can be adjusted on a per-work-type basis or per pawn-task using middle-click.

• Automatic work scheduling divides the colony into 8-hour shifts.

• Schedules are customizable.

• Specific work types can be excluded for foreigners (Royalty DLC and mods) or slaves (Ideology DLC).
