Описание автора

======> ** DISCLAIMER ** <======

I am not the original author of this mod. I have forked and updated it for RimWorld 1.6. If the original author requests its removal, I will respectfully comply.

======> ** ABOUT ** <======

Crypto Coffin adds a grave-like cryptosleep casket that preserves the corpse stored inside it, keeping it from rotting away.

Think of it as a mix between a grave and a cryptosleep casket, except it is made for dead pawns only. It works nicely for funerals, meditation spots, memorial rooms, or keeping Grandma safely preserved until you finally find that resurrector mech serum.

Because sometimes you are not ready to say goodbye. And sometimes your colony just cannot afford to lose its best researcher yet.

======> ** FEATURES ** <======

The Crypto Coffin preserves the corpse placed inside it and prevents its rotting progress. Basically, it is a homemade grave freezer with a little more style.

It also includes mod settings so you can customize how the building works. You can change power requirements, corpse preservation behavior, item-production conditions, production time, selected items, production amounts, and more.

If Vanilla Nutrient Paste Expanded is installed and active, you can also enable a nutrient requirement for item production. This lets you make the system easier, harder, or much more questionable depending on how you want to run your colony.

The mod also includes Crypto Mining. No, it does not actually mine cryptocurrency. It is just a dumb play on words because the mod is named Crypto Coffin.

Crypto Mining lets an eligible corpse slowly produce a selected item. You choose what gets produced, how much is produced, how long production takes, and which corpse conditions must be met.

You can even use it alongside RimCryptoEconomy if you want to produce crypto coins from preserved corpses.

Wait, what? Me helping you build a crypto empire from dead pawns?

No no no. That is completely your idea. I am absolutely not an accomplice!!! >:)

Anyway, check out the mod settings. They are probably useful. Maybe even cool.

======> ** FAQ ** <======

QUESTION: Why fork the original mod?

Before the original mod was updated, it had issues with corpse preservation and produced errors. On December 15, 2025, the original author returned and released an update that fixed the known problems.

QUESTION: If the original mod is fixed, is this mod still needed?

A: For the original purpose alone, not really.

Both mods preserve corpses and stop them from rotting. If that is all you need, the original mod is probably the better and simpler choice.

This version is mainly for players who want extra customization. It includes settings for Crypto Mining/item production, production conditions, item selection, production duration, power requirements, and corpse-preservation requirements.

This mod also does not require Harmony.

That is not meant as some huge selling point, though. Harmony is good, useful, and most modded RimWorld setups already use it. The original mod simply did not use Harmony, so I kept that approach going. That is all.

QUESTION: Can I mine cryptocurrency using a dead pawn's brain?

A: * Yes...*

Install the closest thing to actual cryptocurrency in RimWorld, which is RimCryptoEconomy. Then open this mod's settings, enable Crypto Mining, and select one of that mod's coins as the produced item.

Or choose literally any other valid item from the list. It is your colony, your corpse-powered economy, and your questionable life choices.

QUESTION: Is there a mod that lets me put corpses inside a normal cryptosleep casket?

A: I recommend Mile's continued version, which you can find here.

QUESTION: THE NEW UPDATE BROKE MY SAVE. IT IS OVER. IT IS GONE.

A: Brah. Take a breath.

If you run into problems, please let me know in the comments. I tested a few scenarios and have a couple of options that may help.

The main risk applies to saves that used the older version of this mod with its old XML Extensions and RimCryptoEconomy compatibility content. That older setup used a custom job that has been removed in the updated version. If your save still contains references to that old content, errors may happen after updating.

If you want to continue your current save, the safest option is to use an older version of the mod locally.

  1. Scroll down and find the Official Source Code section.
  1. Open the linked source-code page.
  1. Click Code on the left side, then open Commits.
  1. Find a commit from before the update that changed or removed the old compatibility content.
  1. Click the folder icon for that commit to browse its files.
  1. Click Code again but this time on the right side near the three dots and "Find file".
  1. Choose Download source code.
  1. Download the ZIP or other compressed version you prefer.
  1. Extract it and place the older mod folder into your local RimWorld Mods folder.
  1. Use that local older version for the affected save.

Once you are ready to start a new colony, you can switch back to the current Steam Workshop version.

The other option is to start a new save right away. I know that is probably not what anyone wants to hear, but it is still an option if you are ready to move on.

I wanted to be upfront about this so nobody feels like their save is completely doomed. If your current colony is important to you, using the older local version should give you a path to keep playing safely.
