Better Work Tab is a comprehensive overhaul of RimWorld’s labor management. Reorder columns with drag-and-drop, automate priorities with smart rulesets, and organize your colonists with visual dividers. Scalable, efficient, and fully customizable.

Drag & Drop Reordering

Stop fighting the UI. Freely rearrange work columns and pawn rows directly in the tab. Your custom layout persists between saves, giving you total control over how you view your colony’s labor. Can enable multi column select if enabled from the advanced settings.

Note: Dragging work type columns changes the priority execution order, allowing you to move tasks like cleaning to the left of the firefighting column.

Instant Skill Overlay

Hold SHIFT to instantly swap priority numbers for color-coded skill levels. The overlay automatically highlights the "best pawn" for each work type, making it easy to see who should be doing what without opening the pawn bio.

Visual Dividers & Organization

Keep your Work tab clean, even with 50+ pawns. Create collapsible dividers with custom labels and colors to group your colonists by squad, role, or location. Right-click any pawn to set custom background colors, insert new dividers, or update their title instantly.

Automation Rulesets

Take the guesswork out of priorities. Create smart rules to automatically assign work based on:

• Passions, Skills, and Traits

• Biological factors and health

• Custom conditions and logic

Apply rules for your entire colony with a single click.

Known Issues

• UI Scaling: v1.0.3 has fixed scaling on tested scales 0.8x-1.75x. Should work for higher as well. Reach out on discord if any issues are found.

Compatibility

• Versions: Supports RimWorld 1.6, 1.5, 1.4. Also 1.3 and 1.2 but updates to these versions may be slower

• DLCs: Works with all official DLCs (Royalty, Ideology, Biotech, Anomaly, Odyssey).

Mod Interactions:

• ✅Fully compatible with the open beta of Zetrith Multiplayer mod (Please report issues on our Discord if you have any).

• ✅ [FSF] Complex Jobs - Drag and drop reordering supported.

• ⚠️ Grouped Pawns List - BWT overrides the work tab, disabling GPL within this specific menu.

• ⚠️ CompactWorkTab - Causes UI overlap. BWT already includes angled headers.

• ❌ Fluffy WorkTab mod and forks - Hard conflict. These mods are not compatible.
