О материале

«Layered Apparel» — материал мастерской RimWorld. Моды для колонии: новые возможности, предметы и удобство игры. Данные Steam, описание автора и ссылка для установки через подписку. Совместимость редакцией не проверена.

Описание автора

Your look. Your gear. Your choice.

Give each colonist a personal style, or dress a whole group in a shared uniform. Layered Apparel changes how your colonists look while keeping their actual equipment and stats intact.

Inspired by Monster Hunter's Layered Armor system and transmog mods.

Build your own look

Pick apparel from the wardrobe, combine your favorites, and see the result as you edit.

  • Click to add cosmetics, drag to reorder them, and show or hide individual items.

  • Preview your combination from the front, back, and sides.

  • Search the wardrobe and filter apparel by category or mod.

Customize colors and shapes

Find the right color

Use the color picker, enter a HEX code, or choose from suggested and saved colors. You can also copy a worn item's HEX color from the Equipped panel.

Make it fit your style

Adjust size, position, and rotation separately for the front, sides, and back. Preview all four directions together, or enlarge a single view for a closer look.

Different looks for different situations

Keep your everyday clothes and combat cosmetics separate. Configure additional looks for vacuum exposure or Exosuit pilot mode when the corresponding DLC or mod is installed.

  • Default cosmetics: Your everyday look.

  • Drafted cosmetics: A separate appearance when drafted.

  • Vacuum cosmetics: Requires Odyssey.

  • Pilot cosmetics: Requires Exosuit Framework.

Link cosmetics to your equipment

Manual linking

Show a cosmetic when a particular type of equipment is worn. For example, show a windbreaker with recon armor and a parka with marine armor. Links match equipment types, so replacing an item with another of the same type keeps the link useful.

Automatic conditions

Set conditions based on apparel layers, body coverage, and minimum armor ratings. Cosmetics appear when worn equipment matches those conditions.

One colonist's style. A whole colony's uniform.

Use the Cosmetic Manager to edit colonists and presets with the same familiar editing panels, then apply a configuration to several colonists at once.

  • Save, edit, rename, and delete presets, including selecting several presets for deletion.

  • Use a preset or another colonist's cosmetic configuration as your source.

  • Choose which cosmetic lists and individual items to apply.

  • Replace the selected lists or add to them, and preview the result on a recipient before applying.

A preset can hold more than one fixed clothing combination: it also stores state-specific lists and equipment links or display conditions.

Fine-tune how apparel overlaps

Need a cape to sit in front of one item and behind another? Open Render Offset to inspect render layers and adjust individual cosmetics separately for the front, sides, and back.

The preview updates as you edit. Undo and reset controls let you experiment with the layering.

Requirements and compatibility

  • RimWorld 1.6 and Harmony are required.

  • Odyssey enables vacuum cosmetics. It is optional for the other features.

  • Exosuit Framework enables pilot cosmetics and Exosuit previews. It is optional for the other features.

  • Combat Extended: Keeps shield equipment visible when cosmetics are enabled.

  • Dead Man's Switch: Supports DMS Synthetic mechanoids.

FAQ

Does it affect equipment stats or game balance? No. Cosmetics change appearance; your actual worn equipment continues to provide its normal stats and effects.

Can I add or remove it mid-save? Yes. Removing the mod removes its cosmetic functionality; your actual equipment remains.

Do I need to equip the apparel I want to use as a cosmetic? No. Choose it from the wardrobe independently of your actual gear.

Performance

Below is a profiling example with roughly 50 visible colonists using vacuum cosmetics while the game was running.

The capture shows the measured Layered Apparel patch timings in that test. It is not a measurement of every rendering cost caused by cosmetics, and results vary with hardware, apparel, and other mods.

No tick-based processing. The editor is optimized for performance, but FPS may be lower while editing windows are open.

Recommended mod

AB's Head Apparel Tweaker provides additional control over headgear and hair rendering.
