If you've ever gone to the storyteller selection screen, selected "Custom..." from the difficulty list, spent a good while tweaking every slider just right, and then suddenly decided you want to start all over again, you know the pain.

Now try doing that a hundred times? You'll go crazy just from the sliders alone and wonder why there isn't a way to just save your settings as a preset and load it conveniently.

Well, guess what?

Introducing Save Storyteller Settings

With Save Storyteller Settings, you can now save and load your own custom difficulty preset, so you can shave precious time off fighting with the sliders (boo!), and just continue on to your game as usual.

So, how does it work?

• Just start a new game, select your starting scenario, and proceed to the storyteller-selection screen.

• Choose the "Custom..." difficulty, which drops you into the settings panel below it.

• Right inside the panel, you'll see the "Save preset...", and "Load preset..." buttons conveniently placed under the "Set to standard playstyle..." button.

• Adjust the setting sliders however you like by sliding the slider, or right-clicking the label above it, which lets you enter a fixed value yourself.

• After you're done, just hit "Save preset...", type in a name for it, and you're all set!

• Once you decide to start a new game, just select "Load preset...", and it'll instantly load your settings for you. Pretty painless, and you don't have to fight the sliders ever again (yay!).

Sounds cool! Anything I should know about this mod?

Good question, nothing that should worry you, but to summarize:

• It's fully manual: this mod never changes your difficulty on its own, i.e. you have full control over your settings.

• Storyteller-agnostic: meaning any preset you save can be loaded seamlessly with any storyteller you have in your game, vanilla or modded.
