Locomotive 45, or Oahu, is one of the four locomotives on the Lahaina Kaanapali & Pacific. It is the only diesel locomotive on the Maui based, 3ft narrow gauge railroad. Oahu was built by Plymouth Locomotive Works as a Plymouth MDT. While it is not often seen pulling trains, Oahu is still kept in working order.
Note: If anyone has more information about the background of this locomotive or the sound of its bells and whistles, please let me know. I was not able to find much on LK&P 45, so any additional facts would be greatly appreciated.
This locomotive runs on 5u track and has a 2.5 rope coupler height. The doors do not open, but the stools in the cab and the hidden seats in the door windows allow you to get in and out of the locomotive. Use W and S to accelerate forward and backward and the Full Stop break to zero out the smart controller. Turn the key and release the Temporary brake to move.
