This mod is compatible with game version 1.7.*.
While there are already some "Trotsky replaces Stalin" mods out there, this one right here has some additional content. For example:

Trotsky replaces Stalin per a decision available from the start

Some focuses are renamed to be more general and not contain the name of Stalin
-
There's no "Great Purge" or civil war, you will keep most ministers, generals and advisors
-
Some cities will be renamed when Stalin dies (Hello Tsaritsyn!)

The events will not call for Stalin when he's already dead
-
A new spirit called "Permanent Revolution" replaces "Home of the Revolution" (PR is superior to HotR)
Sadly, this mod is incompatible with every mod that does extensive changes to the USSR, except completely custom events, flags and smaller localisation changes (like country names).
In the future I will try to increase compatibility, though Hoi4 doesn't allow much changes concerning editing vanilla events.
