Play as Banat in The New Order! This mod is an alternate history mod that answers what happened if the Großdeutsches Reich actively supported an independent German nation in Banat.

Background (wiki): Swabians emigrated in the 18th century to what was then the Austrian Empire's Banat of Temeswar province, later included in the Habsburg Kingdom of Hungary, a province which had been left sparsely populated by the wars with Turkey. The group came to be known as Banat Swabians, part of the Danube Swabians. At the end of World War I in 1918, the Swabian minority worked to establish an independent multi-ethnic Banat Republic; however, the province was divided by the Treaty of Versailles of 1919, and the Treaty of Trianon of 1920. The greater part was annexed by Romania, a smaller part by the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (since 1929 Yugoslavia) and a small region around Szeged remained part of Hungary.

Historical diversion: During World War 2, the Axis invaded and occupied Yugoslavia. Germany established a puppet state in Serbia, and made Serbian Banat a Germanic autonomous region inside of the Serbian Republic. During the Romanian-Serbian war in the early 1950's, Romania tried to annex Serbian Banat from the Reich's puppet to realize their ''Greater Romania'' ambitions. The Germans however did not appreciate that and sent forces to counter the Romanian invasion. They pushed back the invaders out of all of Banat, growing the autonomous region in the progress. After the Romanians surrendered, Sepp Janko got permission to lead a Swabian client state of the Reich as Reichsprotektor of Banat. Now firmly under national socialist control, waves of ethnic Germans turned the region into a Swabian majority, further solidifying Unity-Pakt's control over the Balkans.
