The Roman State is one of the most resilient in mankind's history; having weathered trial after trial as the Roman Empire until the Emperor was removed following a Civil War during the 1840s & 50s and a republic reinstated for the first time since 27 B.C; while still retaining the areas of Anatolia, Greece, Macedonia & Thracia. However, the old royalty still remain popular in some circles, and a lack of vigilance may see the Republic be swiftly crushed again & the Empire restored. Like many times in history, Rome stands at the center of a gathering storm cloud over human affairs, whether this will be the one to end it all is anyone's guess...

Based on the 3 part Youtube series by Neatling, this mod explores a 1936 start in which the Eastern Romans, commonly called the Byzantines, survived into the modern day. While the youtube series takes place during the modern day, this scenario explores how the Roman Republic & it's allies navigated the twisted waters that was the prelude & events of WW2.

Former Roman Themes in Armenia & Syria are independent, but still reliant on the Romans for external support against Iranian, British, and Soviet Russian influence in the region. The Theme of Palestine, having been pried away from Syria during the Civil War by the British now stands as the nation of Israel, being granted independence as a compromise between the Romans & British as a buffer between their respective Spheres. Due in the majority to the lack of the Ottomans being a strong power in Arabia & Mesopotamia, the Hashemite family is the head of a British Protectorate currently ruling in Arabia & Iraq; however, as pressure on the British Empire mounts; Arabia stands ready to seize their independence, with assurances of friendly relations with the Pahlvais of the Iranian Empire.
