This mod is an attempt to tackle the problem present in the vanilla game being that many nations, minors as well as majors lack options to name your ships in huge numbers, as well as many names being in multiple namelists leading to multiple built ships having the same names. This mod expands the said namelists for viable Naval nations as historically as possible.

How the Work is Approached

Updated Nations

• Major Nations: United Kingdom, United States, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Soviet Union -> Which nations are expanded the most for the purpose of being able to rebuild/modernize and expand in bigger numbers.

• Minor Nations: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Chile, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Netherlands, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Norway, Poland, British Raj, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Yugoslavia -> Which nations have new categories to choose names with consideration to their historical categories as well.

• Releaseable Nations: Ukraine

• Formable Nations: Austria-Hungary, European Union

How Names are Chosen

• Trying to minimize the duplicates that appear across namelists.

• Mostly trying to have people's names that have already achieved something in their life or were not alive during the period of World War 2.

• Adding names that nations have used before and after the period of World War 2.

• For minor nations that don't have a clear way of naming their hulls like Heavy Cruisers, I have taken liberties to give the more of grand names the nation has to heavier ships and generic approach for the lesser ships.

• When a nation has their prefix or names based on their ideology like the United Kingdom does (having the 'HMS' for their royals) and they go Communist, to avoid using royal or colonial names, new namelists are unlocked to fit the new regime, unfortunately the prefix of already built ships cannot be changed.

• Sources for inspiration is through World of Warships, Wikipedia and AI Models like ChatGPT.

New Namelists Added - Themes

Nations share a standard amount of Themed namelists, a few are only ever present in specific nations.

• The following themes are added: Regions/States, Mountains, Cities, Rivers, Islands, Colonial Holdings, Weather/Elements, Inspirational, Birds, Animals, Fish, Famous Battles, Mythology, Presidents, Revolutionary Heroes, Monarchs.

Compatibility

• This mod should work fine for any mod, even overhauls as long as they don't have touched the "names_ships" .

• Overhaul mods: Road to 56, Vanilla Naval Rework.

• This mod cannot be Ironman Compatible because the "common" folder is modified in order to change the names.
