About Legacy Edition

1936 Lithuania - Legacy Edition is a resurrection of the original 1936 Lithuania created by Dainavietis and updated by M.B. Kovas which returns the mod from its late 2020 state to an updated variant for the newest version of the game. The Legacy edition of 1936 Lithuania is a faithful restoration which does not aim to remake the mod or add any new features.

About 1936 Lithuania

1936 Lithuania introduces a new focus tree for Lithuania and a series of possible branches that attempt to replicate possibilities during the Interwar period of the country's history. Antanas Smetona of the authoritarian party can preserve the republic in a historical approach or attempt to revive the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. On one side of the spectrum, the Iron Wolf paramilitary organization can be empowered with Augustinas Voldemaras at the helm to follow firm German ideals, while the opposite end offers Antanas Sniečkus who may take charge of a socialist state and navigate different approaches in dealing with the Soviet Union. Last but not least, the deposed but democratically elected president Kazys Grinius can be returned to power and the initial republic can be continued where it left off.

There are several expansionist possibilities such as continuing the legacy of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, bringing back the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, uniting the Baltic nations or even retrying a previously short-lived concept that was the Litbel Soviet Socialist Republic from 1919. On the quest for military dominance, Lithuania is now open to many different historical generals, admirals and politicians that can be used to outfit a strong government.

Improvements & Changes

• Poland will now receive a wargoal against Lithuania if it refuses the 1938 ultimatum based on historical accuracy;

• decreased organization factor in several ideas for rebalancing;

• fixed Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact divisions of Polish territory;

• reorganized file structure to ensure less conflict with vanilla and other mods.

• fixed bug where developing steel in Latvia required owning the state of Kosovo.

• fixed missing events "We take back Vilnius at any costs!" and "Vilnius ours!"

• fixed missing descriptions and duplicate entries for Lithuania in the country selection bookmarks.

• restored Stasys Raštikis' possible capacities as both field marshal and chief of army.

Mod Compatiblity

Any other modifications that implement new states, national focuses or game map changes in the game will naturally conflict with 1936 Lithuania - Legacy Edition and result in glitching or, most likely, crashing. Total conversion mods will usually not work.
