HEARTS OF UNO

Hearts of UNO is a mod that brings the classic card game UNO into Hearts of Iron IV.

LEGAL NOTICE

All visual assets, audio effects, and any recognizable elements used in this mod belong to the official UNO game available on Steam. This is a purely fan-made project with no commercial intent. If any copyright claim is made against this mod, I will be forced to hide it or replace the graphics to avoid legal issues.

HOW THE GAME WORKS

The primary goal of this mod is to make UNO function smoothly in singleplayer or multiplayer. You can play with real players, AI opponents, or a mix of both — entirely up to you

It is highly recommended to play UNO on slower speed !!!

** There can be ONLY ONE host of UNO at this moment !!! ** In other words, there can't be more than one UNO game on server if you for example play with friends and each of you want to play individually

The UNO lobby consists of 6 players. One player must host the lobby and invite others ( players or AI ) At the start of each match, every participant draws 7 cards, and the game proceeds similarly to standard UNO rules.

There is only one major exception: Because of HOI4 engine limitations, the game cannot detect whether a player said “UNO”, so the system handles this automatically. So you can't accuse anyone of not saying the word "UNO" - sorry!

Additionally, there is one custom rule that differs from traditional UNO: A player may defend against a +4 card by playing a +2, but only if the color chosen on the +4 matches the color of the defending player’s +2.

Also the sound effect of "UNO' is played only on normal cards between 0 and 9 because there are also sound effects on reverse, block etc. so it would accumulate and make a noisy mess - be aware of that.

When any player (whether human or AI) reaches 0 cards, the game ends automatically and a new match can be started. (At this time, continuing the same session after a winner is declared is not supported.)

SOUND EFFECTS

Audio effects are played globally for all countries in the session, even for nations not participating in the UNO game. Unfortunately, the HOI4 engine does not allow for more advanced sound-targeting logic.

LOCALISATION

This mod technically supports every language available in HOI4, but all content is in English — except for Polish, which has its own translation.

If you would like to translate the mod, you can do so by editing the files inside the “localisation” folder. I will be happy to include your translation in an update.

COMPABILITY WITH OTHER MODS

I do not know if this mod works on every mod, but I think it should work with most of them. If you would like to do that for me, please write down below if it's compatible with the mod you play. Thanks !
