Introduction

Five thousand years of civilization once nurtured a brilliant galaxy on this land known as the "Three Thousand Miles of Beautiful Rivers and Mountains." However, since the national humiliation of the Gengxu Reform, the shadow of the empire has loomed over this land for twenty-six years. The iron fist of the Governor-General's Office, the wave of imperialization, the gradually forgotten language, and the depleted resources have created an endless winter. Now, the world is in turmoil, the empire's war on the continent is increasingly intense, and war clouds loom over distant Europe. Opportunity and danger coexist, and a profound question confronts everyone: Will they choose to remain under the empire's wing, exchanging submission for the fruits of modernization and order, becoming a model of "internal and external unity," seeking survival and development in the cracks? Or will they choose to ignite the flames beneath the earth, following in the footsteps of their ancestors, embarking on a path fraught with thorns and blood to reclaim true independence and glory? This three thousand miles of land stands silently at the crossroads of fate, awaiting its people's choice.

What was Korea like in 1936?

On August 22, 1910, Lee Wan-yong, Prime Minister of the Korean Empire, and Terauchi Masatake, representative of the Empire of Japan, signed the Japan-Korea Annexation Treaty. On August 29, the Korean Empire officially collapsed, becoming a Japanese colony governed by the Government-General of Korea.

Historically, Korea had already ceased to exist in 1910. The Korea established 36 years later was more like a government-in-exile. In terms of its structure, a new colony under the Government-General of Korea (without a central authority) was created, which more closely reflects the actual situation on the Korean Peninsula during those 36 years.
