Black Requiem is a total conversion mod that seeks to both ask and answer a question: what if Code Geass was in HOI4?

Black Requiem is an alternative history mod based on the world of Code Geass. In this world exists three major superpowers whose conflicts are the driving force of the mod. In the Americas, the Holy Britannian Empire stands tall, an absolute monarchy following social Darwininism at its core. In Asia, the Chinese Federation awaits, a crumbling bloc of nations with eunuchs vying for power. In between those two lies Europia United, a bastion of democracy in a world bent on destroying it. Japan, the last major independent nation, seeks to keep itself free and alive against all odds.

Starting in 2009, will you follow Britannia and commit to the total dominance of the world for the Empire, or will you stand with Japan in a desperate attempt to resist the superpowers of the world? Or perhaps far away from it all, will you seek to stabilize Russia, emerge from the chaos, and become a new superpower? It's up to you to choose in Black Requiem.

Russia in Chaos

This update, Russia in Chaos, has been worked on for the better part of four years by the Black Requiem team. The update's development has been anything but easy, but we've come out of it refreshed on the mod and with our vision in tact and in mind.

Russia in Chaos focuses on the Russian Republic, which at the start of the mod is a nation on the brink of collapse. Soon to fall into infighting between various factions—the Far-East, the Siberian People's Republic, the Principality of Ekaterinburg, and an intervention in the west by Europia United—the fate of Russia will be decided by your choices. Whoever comes out on top will reshape the global sphere, whether it's the E.U. reacquiring their grip on the Great Bear, the Lion of Euro-Britannia snatching it out from under them, or Russia itself painstakingly reclaiming its former glory.

Black Requiem is attempting to be the most comprehensive Code Geass mod out there as well as the most comprehensive Code Geass project overall. With that being said, to build the world of Code Geass in HOI4, we look not only at the original anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion but the franchise as a whole. Starting at the very beginning in 2009 leaves quite a large gap for us to fill, and we are dedicated to filling it with whatever canon content we see fit—as well as plenty of non-canon content—in order to make a living, breathing world that exists as more then just a backdrop for Lelouch and his conflicts. Therefore, our current plans involve filling the world with supporting content before realizing our ultimate goal of completely implementing the R1 and R2 anime content.
