Описание автора
TFR: Yugoslavia Reborn
A submod for The Fire Rises. Serbia, 2020. One road everybody walks, then six out of it — each running to its own Fourth Yugoslavia, or to something that only wears the name.
Twenty years after the bombs, the craters are paved over and the arguments are not. This submod fills the empty Serbian focus tree of The Fire Rises with a full alternate-history campaign: a country the size of a wound, carrying the memory of one three times larger, forced at last to choose what happens next.
What it adds
-
276 focuses across eight trees. A common trunk — the pandemic, the Kosovo war, the night that follows it — then six political paths, each with its own ending, plus five transversal branches: economy, diplomacy, home affairs, military, self-defence.
-
47 events, 41 decisions, 125 ideas, all written for this mod.
-
Choosing a path replaces the tree. The other five do not sit greyed out beside yours — they are gone, and your own road has room in front of it. What you completed before choosing stays completed; the branches themselves make way.
-
The war decides what opens. Hold Kosovo and four futures are available to you. Lose it and only two are. A defeated Serbia does not get to be reasonable.
-
The Yugoslavian Coalition. The Fire Rises wrote a Tito/Milošević balance of power for Serbia, localised it in five languages, and then wired it to nothing. This submod is the only place it actually runs.
-
A real use for the influence gauges. Detaching Montenegro and Macedonia from NATO is the one thing in either mod that gives TFR's Russian/European influence variables a gameplay effect.
-
The Assembly. The libertarian path runs on a resource that measures whether people actually turn up: it rises with stability and with the movement's support, it is spent by every branch that builds something, and eight focuses stay shut until enough delegates are in the room. It has a window of its own — the chamber, the gauge, and a page explaining what your assemblies may decide and what they may not yet.
-
The Central Committee. The communist path answers to a mandate it can run out of. Its weekly income is read off the Tito/Milošević balance itself, and it is zero at the centre — a Committee that cannot decide earns nothing, and every one of the path's 78 focuses costs something to take. Let it fall too low and the Congress removes you. No decision converts the mandate back into anything you can spend elsewhere; there is no farm loop out of it.
The six paths
-
The Red Star Rises — refound the League, settle whether it belongs to Tito's heirs or Milošević's, and build the Fourth Yugoslavia as a federation of equals or as Belgrade's own. 78 focuses, with an economy, an army and a foreign policy of its own.
-
The Other Left — plenums and assemblies, workers' councils, a territorial defence of communes, and a federation ratified from below instead of signed in Belgrade. 78 focuses and the Assembly to hold them up.
-
The Civic Option — courts that rule and votes that count, a confederation held together by law.
-
The Future of Serbia — the president consolidates, the investors are seated, the opposition is managed, and Yugoslavia comes back as a holding company. The one path that is not an alternative to the present.
-
All Serbs in One State — the Serbian World made real, from Banja Luka to the Ibar.
-
Who Lost Kosovo? — the question that ends careers, and the reckoning that answers it.
Where the mod is
The trunk and all six endings are playable. Two paths are built to full depth — the communist and the libertarian, 78 focuses each. The other four run to their endings on a shorter tree and are being expanded one at a time. This is a slow project on purpose — one finished path is worth six sketches.
Requirements
Requires The Fire Rises. Load this mod AFTER TFR. It is a submod, not a standalone — it depends on TFR's Serbia, its characters, and its systems.
Help wanted
This is a one-person project. Four paths still have to be built out to the depth the first two reached, and the whole tree could use a hand with interface and custom GFX. If you mod, and Yugoslavia interests you, get in touch.
Credits
-
The Fire Rises team — the parent mod this builds on, and the source of the focus icons that are either pointed at directly or derived from TFR's own Serbian artwork. All artistic credit for those images is theirs.
-
Yugoslavia Overhaul Revived — the structure of the extended economic and military branches was studied there and rewritten for the 2020 setting.
-
Wikimedia Commons — the Yugoslav and Serbian symbols (the League's star, Tito, the SFRY and JNA emblems, the 1961 Belgrade Conference seal, the Serbian arms, the first workers' council) are public domain or CC0. Per-file sources are listed in the mod's ASSET_SOURCES.
