The original armored realism mod is back and updated for version 1.9!

The Historical Vehicle Overhaul (HVO), aims to enrich HOI IV with over two hundred historically accurate armored fighting vehicles. By replacing the generic equipment found in vanilla with historically accurate vehicles and divisional templates. Tired of Afghanistan having tanks as good as Germany? This mod is for you.

What HVO is all about:

• 7 Selectable tank trees, play as ANY nation and use ANY tank tree you so desire. Ever wanted to play France but use Russian tanks? Go for it! Ever wanted to play as China with German panzers? Now you can!

• Over 200 unique armored fighting vehicles ranging from the iconic M4 Sherman to the devastating Sturmtiger.

• 39 historical armored battalion types, including mixed battalions.

• New mass production and armor quality options to breathe new life into the upgrade system.

• Heavy, Medium, and Light Assault Guns (AGs) are now their own battalion types.

• Expanded conversions. Convert your old Panzer IIIs into newer variants, SPGs, TDs and AGs!

• Motorized and mechanized equipment production costs reduced to make a truly mechanized late-game battlefield.

• AI strategy, industry and template tweaks to accommodate new equipment and balance tweaks.

Each vehicle has been rebalanced for historical accuracy. The strengths and weaknesses of various tanks can have a dramatic effect on gameplay. For instance, Panzer IV Gs for significantly outgun their T-34 '41 opponents but the T-34 possesses superior armor. While vehicles such as the L3/35, M1 Combat Car and Panzer I that are armed with machineguns pose little threat to their cannon wielding brethren.

The vehicle and order of battle changes in this mod were inspired by the Combined Arms Operation Series by NS2 Games.

Future Goals:

• New vehicle specific upgrade categories such as special gun upgrades.

• Even more tanks of course!!!
