ToraToraTora! - A Japanese National Focus Mod by Verenikin

Compatible with almost everything! Now also has RUSSIAN localization!

NOTES FOR 1.5. AND BEYOND:

I can no longer update the mod due to the launcher/workshop being a buggy mess, and as a result this mod will remain as it is. I cannot guarantee that it will work, in part or at all. But feel free to try, and feel free to edit it to make it work should you wish to do so.

I CANNOT update the mod my self because the workshop/paradox launcher is d o g s h i t and simply won't let me.

Tora Tora Tora is the third in my series of National Focus mods. My previous ones, Gud Konge Fædreland and Viva España have been very successful, and inspired me to create a mod for Japan - my favourite major.

This mod was originally created for HoI 4 BlackICE (to which I contribute). I would recommend you to try out BlackICE, where the original version of this mod is to be found. The BICE origins of this mod show themselves in the fact that this mod does not include focuses for extremely ahistorical scenarios like a Communist or Democratic Japan. You can still use the mod if you intend on making such a playthrough, just hire the relevant advisors for your ideology. The two main scenarios this national focus mod gives you involve either going for the Southern Expansion Doctrine, or the Northern one. Only ONE of those trees will be unlocked. This will happen when the Five Ministers Conference takes place in 1936, so be patient, and CHOOSE WISELY.

DO NOT PUT THIS MOD ON OTHER WEBSITES, EVEN FOR TRANSLATION. IF YOU TRANSLATE THIS MOD FOR ANOTHER WEBSITE, ONLY UPLOAD THE LOCALISATION FILE.

FEATURES:

• A large amount of focuses, most of them brand new. As Japan already has a focus tree, being a major and all that, some focuses have been reused, but every single one has been edited to create a realistic and better focus tree.
• Historical Events for Japan: I have added a few historical events (such as the 2-26-Incident, Five Ministers Conference) for extra flavour and content.
• Interaction between events and focus tree - your choices actually MATTER.
• National Spirits to go along with the focuses.
• Special Peace event for if you go to war with the USSR. (described below)

PEACE OPTION WITH THE USSR:

Should the USSR be at war with Japan, have at least 30% surrender progress, be at war with another major (so, NOT Japan), and should Japan control most of Siberia (all the way from the east and towards Tannu Tuva), you will get the option to offer the USSR a peace. The AI will usually (but not always!!) accept it. Do note that this will upset Germany and Italy severely, and will result in you being kicked out of the Axis, should you be a member.

TRANSLATION:

If you wish to translate this mod, please contact me. If you wish, I can add your translation (with credits to you) to the mod. Do not upload the mod itself on other websites if you translate it, you may only upload your translation.

COMPATIBILITY:

This mod is compatible with ANY mod that does not change: The Japanese National Focus The Japanese Ideas file The Japanese history file (it can work without it, but certain events will appear weird to you if my version isn't used)

This mod DOES NOT change the Japanese or Soviet events, instead I use my own event files for this.

For EXTRA compatibility, this mod will appear at the very TOP of your mod launcher, so if you want to use certain mods which change the files I mentioned before, this mod will overwrite those changes, allowing you to use Tora Tora Tora on top of mods which change the Japanese NF/Ideas files. This is very good if you want to use an AI mod which changes those files (the big ones do), as it should have 0 effect on your gameplay as long as YOU are playing as Japan. For other mods - test at your own risk. If they add laws, advisors, etc, those laws and advisors will not appear for Japan.

Will work in multiplayer if all players have the mod (and is not OP either).
