Overview

What is there to say? The weapons of Half-Life 2, in VR. Where possible, I've tried to make them as true to life as I could, with the aim of recreating the authentic and original HL2 experience in Virtual Reality. These weapons are balanced totally differently to the ones from the Waves, and instead resemble the default HL2 weapons much more, though they have been tweaked to be more suitable for VR use. Still, these changes help ensure that none of these guns are too overpowered for Half-Life 2 campaigns.

The Arsenal

Crowbar: Gordon's favorite tool for opening crates and Metrocop skulls returns. Swing at enemies to attack. 9mm Pistol: Needs no introduction. .357 Magnum: Six-shot revolver. Press secondary fire (Up on touchpad on Vive) to open the cylinder, insert 6 rounds, close the cylinder, and start blasting. SMG1: 4.7mm MP7-based submachine gun with integrated holographic sight. Holosight provides excellent target acquisition capability. Can be switched to Burst mode. Grenade launcher not functional. AR2: Combine-made energy weapon. Open-bolt, like the MAC-10. Has a simple set of iron sights for aiming. Fires semi-automatically if the trigger is half-pressed, and fully automatically when fully pressed. Crossbow: Classic superheated rebar-based sniper weapon. First, draw back the string until it clicks into place at the rear of the weapon, then place onto it a bolt. Use the scope to aim. Uses real HL2 crossbow bolt entity. Shotgun: SPAS-12 pump-action shotgun. Holds 6+1 rounds. Wide spread. Damage buffed to compensate for lack of double-shot capability. RPG: Laser-guided missile launcher. Insert rockets into the back of the launcher. Use laser to guide to targets. Capable of destroying Gunships. Grenade: The Half-Life 2 grenade. Uses real HL2 grenade entity. The ultimate weapon for taking out entrenched enemy targets.
