NPC No Weapon Drops

Simple NPC Weapon-Drop Blocker

A lightweight addon that prevents NPCs from dropping their weapons when they die. This reduces unnecessary world clutter and improves server performance.

Console Commands:

npcdrops_enabled 1

• Enable the addon

npcdrops_enabled 0

• Disable the addon

npcdrops_enabled 2

• Enables the addon but also disallows any banned item pickups (be careful what you wish for)

npcdrops_whitelist <add/remove> <class>

• Add/Remove a weapon from the whitelist

npcdrops_banned <add/remove> <class>

• Add/Remove a weapon from the banlist

(Whitelist and banlist support live-reload - no map restart required)

Q&A / Troubleshooting

Q: Some NPCs are still dropping weapons, why? A: Some NPCs or addons implement weapon drops in unusual ways, which can make them tricky to block. You can manually prevent these drops by adding the entity or weapon to the banlist:

npcdrops_banned add <class>

Q: Some weapons or items aren’t dropping anymore, even though they should? A: Occasionally, this addon might interfere with other addons’ custom drops. You can allow specific items to drop by adding them to the whitelist:

npcdrops_whitelist add <class>

Q: Do I need to restart the map after changing the whitelist or banlist? A: Nope! Both the whitelist and banlist support live-reloading, so changes apply immediately.

Q: Can I temporarily disable the addon without uninstalling it? A: Yes! Simply use the console command:

npcdrops_enabled 0

to disable

npcdrops_enabled 1

to re-enable

Q: Does this work with NextBots, Lambda Players, and other NPC addons? A: Yes, it should cover standard NPCs, NextBots, and Lambda Players. Some highly custom NPCs may require manual whitelisting/banlisting.

Q: Will this affect players or only NPCs? A: Only NPCs are affected. Player weapons or drops are not touched.

Q: Why use this addon? A: Besides keeping your map cleaner, it improves server performance by reducing the number of unnecessary entities spawned when NPCs die.
