Elevator Tool

What is it?

A tool to create linear elevators which travel from point A to point B.

Why do I care?

Because it's much nicer than using hydraulics or winches; instead, this creates a reliable elevator that will not spaz out or injure its passengers.

How do I use it?

If you're familiar with the Stacker Tool, then this will be a piece of cake.

1.) First, find the prop you want to use as your elevator. 2.) Then, ensure that any handrails or other decorations you wish to have on your elevator are welded DIRECTLY to the prop you are turning into the elevator! 3.) Open the tool's settings and adjust the up/down/left/right/forward/back offsets according to where you want the elevator to travel to. There will be a preview version of your prop that shows exactly where your elevator will end up. 4.) When you are satisfied and have configured the other options to your liking, left click the prop to create your elevator. 5.) Enjoy your new elevator!

If you're wondering what right click does, it's similar to right clicking with the Hydraulic tool — it finds the closest point perpendicular to where you clicked and sets the endpoint there.

Caveats

• Due to how the elevator works internally, props will not collide with any decorations attached to your elevators. So, make sure your elevator's floor is all one prop if possible! • While standing on an elevator in multiplayer, you may appear to glitch in/out of the elevator. This is a bug with multiplayer, but the elevator will still work fine, just be careful! • There is an option to change how much damage an elevator will do to someone standing in its way. Be wary of players making large elevators and crushing people with them...
